Evening all: Been out most of the day; just sat down - phew. Off to check other threads; back in a bit!
Chris Packham has just been on BBC Breakfast prog. talking about his new series on British Wildlife - they showed a clip of an Osprey fishing! - it could have been EJ! - Don't miss the series - starts tonight!
EDIT; "The Animal's Guide to Britain " - at 8.00 pm on BBC2 - a 4 part series "taking a unique look at Britain from the animals' point of view"

Hi folks - got back from choir practice last night and went to look at microwave again and it suddenly clicked what I had been doing wrong, so hopefully I've sussed it now. Other gadgets working fine.
"Unfortunately, the autopsy process was interrupted by the DNR confiscating Jason’s body. They allowed us to keep the internal organs. We asked why they were confiscating this body when no other body has been confiscated in our 42 years of bear research in Minnesota. In the past, whenever a bear died, we notified the DNR, asked for a salvage permit, quickly proceeded with an autopsy before tissues degenerated, and got the salvage permit in the mail. Never a problem. Why the sudden change? Reporters asked the DNR that question and got a non-answer that appeared in the Duluth News Tribune http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/event/article/id/196395/group/Sports/ saying that we didn’t have a salvage permit and the DNR would do their own necropsy. Without internal organs? Unlikely. They called it standard operating procedure. We know better."
The above taken from the Wildlife Research Institute daily update.
See that EJ has laid her first egg - fantastic news.

Good afternoon Lynette so pleased your new gadgets are all working as they shoud.
Sad to read about Jason's being taken away, why on earth did they decide to do that for the first time in 42 years. Feel sorry for Dr Lyn and Sue because they more than anyone would like to know what went wrong.

Good afternoon all back from hairdressers looking much less like The Wild Man of Borneo. Billy was waiting to greet me in his sweet little way. He seems happy I am back and is now enjoying a siesta on the roof of the garden shed. Tried a couple to times last evening to entice him indoors but think it will be a slow process. He will come in but changes his mind and goes out again. Weather a bit warmer today and the sun is making a feeble effort to shine. Billy felt much warmer than he did last night but we think he is so used to being outside that the weather does not trouble him much.
Hope you enjoyed your lunch DjoanS
Have a good afternoon all, off now for some serious osprey watching.
Afternoon all,
Thanks for all the earlier chat. Not read it all yet but will soon.
Linda : Thanks for the reminder about the Chris Packham program this evening.
Margo : Glad Billy was there to welcome you home. We now have another neighbours cat to welcome us home. He is called Harvey.
This morning we went on a shopping mission. Not to Tesco because that would be a nightmare with the schools being off. We went to the Co-op as it was members day with 15% off. Did some gardening and now going to watch the webcams for a while as Hamish has had his walk.
Great news about the first egg for EJ and that the Dyfi female is a Rutland bird.
Good afternoon Alan I had to go into town this morning and it was just horrendous now the children are on half-time, have to say I didn't stop long. Nice to hear you have another cat visiting and I like the name.
Welcome to our 450 th Member, whoever you are! There is certainly a lot of interest in the birds this year. I heard an announcement on the radio yesterday, that Lady had laid her egg!

Linda, Thanks for the reminder. I've just watched a clip, filmed at Rothiemurchus fish farm, and saw Chris P. made a mistake. The film shows a fishing osprey with a satellite tracking device visible, and CP says "it must be from Loch Garten". But the bird has a red Darvic ring - which can only mean it's Red 8T, a regular at the fish farm when he's home.
