Daily Update (Loch Garten Nest) Wednesday 6th April

EJ swept in, went to night vision, Odin flew off in a circle and back in for another quickie, then off again.

Thanks, Paul, I tried but my MWSnap still not working on this cam. Is it just thee and me?

Thanks everyone for the  great reports and pictures!   Is it my imagination or is Odin spending more time this year on the nest standing with EJ than he did in the past? 

In Heron77's picture above  Odin has a " Don't mess with me" look on his  face :) 

They both need a boat anchor on their feet  to  hold them on the nest in the gale force winds . i hope the  winds let  up soon. I keep expecting to see Odin get blown off EJ's back when they are mating .

Someone on the perch again. Thought they'd gone to roost.

Maybe she will stay there all night. I'm off now.

Someone is peeking over the nest.  Can anyone tell me how I get MWSnap to take the full picture (or is it elgonated because I'm taking it direct from carnyx?  I was messing with some of the other options (Fixed rectangle; Any rectangle, etc) and can't get the Window/Menu size back to normal.)

I'm not sure if its Odin or EJ who's at the nest.  Unfortunatly my eyesight isn't as good as the Ospreys ;-)  To be honest I'm a wee bit surprised if one of the birds has made the descion to roost at the nest.  Perhaps they've noticed the amount of international publicity the Lady of the Loch gets at LotL and think this is because she roosts on the nest. LOL

Annette: For me the easiest way to take pics using MWSnap is to keep the aplication minmised in the taskbar and hit CTRL SHIFT A.  This means you can snap any area and also take shots when watching full screen.  I hope this helps.

Edit:  Forgot to mention I took a pic fullscreen before this post and it turned out enlongated.  I'm not sure if this is a Carnyx issue or an MWSnap issue.  Funnilly enough I think everything is included in the picture.

International media is right - certainly would rather see EJ and Odin lead off the U.S. evening news....  "And we start off tonight with breaking news from Scotland, where our own [fill in name of glamorous reporter from whichever network] is on the scene at Loch Garten where one of the resident ospreys has made the surprising decision to roost on the nest for the night!  So tell us, [glamorous reporter], what are the locals saying about this unusual development and who do they think it is?" 

Which reminds me of a funny caption I saw - well, maybe not so funny - under a photo of a fighter jet: "War is God's way of teaching Americans geography."
