Weekly Chat, Sunday April 3 2011

Hi all: very late starting this - was gone most of the day. I saw Odin on the nest - brilliant!  Now off to check on Lady and, hopefully, catch up on chat!

  • george : Sorry you have been unwell and I hope you are better soon. As you say Dundees run had to come to an end eventually. 23 games in a 36 game season is pretty amazing.

Weather has turned wet as forecast so here is a pic of Clivia flowering in our conservatory at the mo:

  • Alan :  Two great photos!  As OG said, such a clear pic of the Peregrine, and now a jolly flower pic to cheer us all up on this drizzly damp day.

Sorry to hear that you are now suffering with  a virus or something, georgeg - these germs seem to be doing the rounds.  Hope you recover soon.  Its so nice to hear that you and Diesel are now such a happy pair.

We had a lovely Mothers Day visit to our Son's home yesterday. After a car journey of rain & sunshine alternating, we arrived after lunch to be met at the door by all of the family, and of course Tomasz got the biggest hug & kiss!  We gave them a small pot of flowers, and some rather crispy home made biscuits (must get used to this new oven!).  I was presented with a big bunch of flowers, and a pottery plate with the hands and a foot of Tomasz when he was 3 months old, imprinted.  This will of course now take pride of place on the sideboard.  OH was given some belated birthday presents, including a framed pic of our Grandson sitting in the garden with a straw hat on, and surrounded by gardening tools!  "Its for you to put in the allotment shed, Dad!"  A lot of laughter ensued!  I took some more pics of Sweetpea as of course he has grown enormously since we saw him last!  Unfortunately as with our holiday pics, I am still trying to find a way to put them onto the pc so that I  can put some on here......  He is now a smiley and giggling little person and his personality is beginning to show through.  He seems as placid and happy as was our son when he was a child.  A lovely visit, and we came home happy and tired last night.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Lindybird  so glad you had such a super day yesterday and what wonderful presents for you and your OH.  I am not surprised you saw such a difference in Tomasz, they change so quickly but how good he is a happy contented little boy bringing you to you all.  Hope you can get some photos on so we can all see the change in him.

  • So sorry about the news of your sister margo.  I hope the treatment goes well for  her.

George sorry to hear you have the dreaded lurgy.  The weather doesn't really help, but you have the company of Diesel to cheer you up!!

I should have refreshed the page before I started to write, so another lovely photo of the Clivia from Alan!

I think it was Tiger who gave the news link re the stamps.  Yes, I did go out and buy a load - an investment you know - at least according to the Money Box chappie on Saturday's Breakfast programme!  I was expecting to find a queue, but it was fine.

Thanks for the link to Odin Gary, it is lovely to keep these links a a reminder.  I checked out your YouTube contributions too.  A couple of lovely ones with Toffee and her sister, but the best was in the stream!!

  • Alan: Is your Clivia, in it's first or subsequent season? My new one is not as fully in bloom, as yours. :o(

  • SheilaFE and everyone else who commented on the stamps. I was a bit shocked to be reminded it was today as I had intended to buy some more. Still I still have quite a few from my investment last year so those stamps now become even more valuable.

OG  That is a good doggie story. I was coming to post it but you got there fist! :)
