Hi all: very late starting this - was gone most of the day. I saw Odin on the nest - brilliant! Now off to check on Lady and, hopefully, catch up on chat!
Evening all: Was gone most of day - went to Botanic Garden and was puttering around there when got a call from grandson. Ended up taking him to the clinic where they said he had a mild infection in the incision so they prescribed antibiotics and advised home nursing visits to take care of things, at least at this stage. We're seeing the doc Monday, so will set that up. Took him out for lunch, then dropped him off at home and went to gym; then picked up Chicken Fajitas from Baja Fresh for dinner. After blistering heat last week got thick mist today. Hoping for quiet time puttering around house and garden tomorrow.
Alan: Commiserations on your team's loss - but wonderful Bobblehead photo looking as if to say "what is that!"
OG: Got my heucheras (Wendy: tall and pale pink) though the darker pink ones caught my eye. Maybe I'll pick up some of those later, but need to let the new plants settle in and bloom before I decide what, if anything, to add.
Alicat: How are you doing today? Good to think positively about vacation; I'm sure you'll be feeling considerably better by then...
Have a good Sunday all.
Morning Everyone (where is everyone today?) HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO THOSE IN UK AND AROUND THE WORLD.
I had a very busy and emotional day yesterday, as went to visit my Friend who is recovering from her operation, and whilst I was there the sister of her neighbour who has just died came around for big hugs and a little cry. It was all very sad. However, the sun was shining and all the daffodils and blossoms on the trees were wonderful. Life goes on.
I'm off, later, to visit my Grandson and also may say hello to my Son & D. in law at the same time! Hope Everyone on here has a lovely Sunday.
THE RETURN
The afternoon light was hazy - she couldn't be quite sure -Was she going crazy? - or was he back once more?As EJ waited patientlly, she didn't make a fussShe didn't screech or shout at him, she just rearranged the moss.
Then he arrived with fishy gifts, and he was back againA welcome sight to All of us, and really just in time...So all the cycle starts around - The mating, then the eggs - the dramas and the littleChicks, all wobbly and long legs.
Oh! Odin! You are truly blessed. You will always get my vote!If ever sometime an Osprey I shall be,You'll really 'float my boat!'
Lindybird great poem for Odin on his return. How happy I am now knowing I will get to see EJ and Odin when I go up in June. Have a great day with Sweet Pea.
Only a quick look from me today as OH is home but I just had to see what was happening. Sorry I would like to reply to everyone but it was so busy after I logged out yesterday, 241 emails in my box this morning.
Have a good day all and Happy Mothers Day to all Mums.
Margobird
Hi folks - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY from me too to all who have mums.
Spent Saturday at hospital - OH had to be taken down to A&E twice - second time we stayed there and he was eventually admitted. Turns out to be something fairly serious , he has now been transferred to a ward and we are awaiting the outcome.
Will be going in to see him later so may not be around much.
Great news about Odin and Laird. Lovely poem Lindybird. You've got the 2011 season off to a great start with your poem.

Lynette so sorry to hear that OH has been admitted. Best place for him at the moment. Thinking of you.
Lovely poem Lindy.
Well the problems with my broadband came to the fore y'day when I missed the return of Odin! I knew, and had commented, about EJ's peeps rather than chirrups and how restless she was. And I saw her sort of backing on the nest as she used to when Odin brought a fish to the nest when it was full of chicks, but the screen froze (yet again) as Odin appeared. I heard the commotion, the chirrups, and wings flapping, and when the screen deigned to come to life again I saw the rear view of a bird I thought was EJ scraping at the nest bowl. I just took the bird to be EJ from there on, and by the time I had posted a comment (again slow to connect) there were all the comments and wonderful snaps from everyone else saying the osprey had landed, Odin was back. What a whally I felt I was!!! It is so wonderful to know the pair will be together again for another season. The screen is currently buffering so I think I will go out into the garden and vent some anger on the weeds!
