  • Dunno Sandy - all those quiet peeps but -   I don't reckon Odin is nigh - he'd definitey come to the nest (with or without fish - it was without last year - as if he'd only just arrived)

  • Those gentle 'peeps' she's making are just like she gives to the eggs and chicks ... and to Odin when she wants him to get off the eggs ... very peculiar.

  • The sun has come out.  She's looking fine sitting on the nest with the sun on her - still looking out SSW'ish!

  • Yes, Sheila - EJ would most certainly recognise Odin - their eye sight is amazing.

Someone from the centre posted somewhere one year that when the clhicks started to clammer for food in the nest the Staff told the visitors to count (I'd count - a thousand and one - etc) and it was only when they got to  53 that they actually discerned a bird in the sky and it was at 70 odd before they could say with certainty that it was an Osprey. But the chicks knew  !!!  and Mamma !!!

  • I think we agreed last year that EJ could see Odin about a mile away, no kidding.

  • Is is just me , or has anyone else noticed -  I believe that as EJ has rested from her long long migration and began to get 'fed up'  she is begiinning to look better and better and better.  Of course she'll need to be in fine   fettle to produce them thar eggs !!

  • Yes, Cirrus,  I agree.  She is looking superb, and the evening sunshine and the light enhances it.  She gave a peep and flew off but within a minute has returned with more little peeps.
