Morning all; dinner time here - well getting close - off to check the options; back to catch up later.
ALICAT You mention not wanting to return to Inv in case it upset you too much. Said before that our first Goldie was put to sleep the day I was returning to Shetland after a visit to parents. The day before I went to the maninland I walked with both dogs at Bannamin beach in Shetland so that was my last walk with Harvey. About a fortnight after my return to Shetland and without telling OH I took Fingal and we walked the beach together - and what a wonderful experience to think that this beautiful place was where we had our final walk together. maybe you would find the same if you come back to walk in the same park in Inv where you walked with Casper
ALICAT can quite understand that you feel you cannot go on holiday where you usually go, perhaps you could choose a different area where memories of Casper are not strong.
Margobird
Just read in our local paper that the Goshawk cam in the New Forest will be up and running soon.
HiBocelli: Hope you have a wonderful day at the Falconary centre.dibnlib and ALICAT: I couldn't imagine how hard it must be going to the place a recently lost pet originated from.ALICAT: I'm glad you're eating again.Margo: Great news about the Goshawk cam. Can't wait until it gets switched on :-)I'm listening to the Cricket World Cup final on the radio at the moment. Sri Lanka won toss and decided to bat first. Well I suppose I might as well tell a cricket related joke.Man walks into the Doctor and says: "Doctor. I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside" Doctor says: "How's that?" Man replies: "Don't talk nonsense. It pitched outside leg stump."Paul.

My birdhouse in the silver birch, remember? Well things have been pretty quiet this week. The bluetits were around yesterday, but seemed more interested in the ants crawling up the tree and possibly the ants' friends, the aphids, not seen the latter though, as they are very small and high up. The tree now has catkins out, so maybe that is of interest as well, since a bluetit seemed to be stuck in the tree for about 5 minutes, this morning, on a tiny twig with a catkin on the end, flapping about it was. Just as I thought about a ladder rescue, it was gone.
Have they or will they move into the birdhouse? I do not know, their interest all seems to be a bit casual.
EDIT:
Since the bird keeps coming back to this twig, I think the twig is rubbing against the base of the birdhouse, in the wind and is perhaps causing annoyance to the occupant(s). But no real signs of comings and goings via the box entrance?

My friends neighbour, 'Stella' died last night, in the night, but not alone as her loyal sister was by her side. All who knew her are relieved in that we didn't want her to suffer for any longer. She died in a place where she had friends around her, as she had been a nurse herself and was cared for by former colleagues in her final days.
My Friend had a difficult day herself, yesterday, healthwise so her daughter & fiance are taking them out to lunch today to be more light hearted and to try and remember Stella in a way she would have liked.
HERON Fingal was scattered at Loch an Eilean some six months after he was put to sleep and whenever we are walking there with Dillon we pause for a mo and remember him. Far from being hard it is now a joy to think of the hours of pleasure we all had there
LINDY can only say sorry for you all
Linda: I'm sorry about your friend's neighbour passing away. But as you say, it's a relief that her suffering is over. My condolences to all concerned.dibnlib: Applogies if my last post was innaccurate. Nice to hear you have nice memories of Fingal when you go to Loch an Eilean. Its nice when the happy memories shine through :-)Paul.
Thanks, dibnlib - these things happen and we can only send our condolences to those involved.
Do think you are so right in that you remember all the good times you had with former pets; we do the same and are grateful for the happy times we had with them.
