Weekly Chat, Sunday March 27, 2011

Morning all; dinner time here - well getting close - off to check the options; back to catch up later.

  • Cirrus, Sorry I can't help you with any contact for QW.  Very sorry she is having such an awful time. Was it QW you met for a birding day last year ?

  • Lindybird such sad news about your friends neighbour.  As you say it is now better that she leaves the world peacefully and does not suffer anymore.  Must have been so difficult for your friend who was dealing with her own problem.  You are not grim and I agree it does help to talk about it.   Having seen my sister suffering so much it really does make you appreciate all good days when so many others are struggling with this dreadful illness.

  • Joan: Oh dear, the second owl made that same noise?!? Yikes! Maybe they think they have to guard the box, but they're both hungry and want to hunt? "You stay, no you stay!" Strange, indeed. No more speculation from me. I did see them both in the box at the same time for a while this morning. Not very cuddly when I was watching.

  • margo - how is your sister?   I am, you won't believe it,  reading ALL of the posts made whilst I have been away - and I've nearly got to the end now!  Glad I found the time to read them, as so much seems to have happened to you All.

My Dog has just sicked up all of his breakfast on the back doormat - must go and clean up! (he was sick yesterday but we thought it was a one-off, and gave him his usual food this morning)

'Morning Brenda - yes it was. Perfectly dreadful time she is happening. Is all now well with you and your family?

  • Lindybird my sister had an MRI scan just over a week ago and another scan last Friday and is now waiting to see the specialist for the results.  Thee talking about some trial treatment which unfortunately goes side by side with  chemotherapy which she is not too keen on having but if that is what it takes she will go ahead with it.  I expect you saw she has broken her arm after falling off the last step on her stairs but amazingly she is still so cheerful. I am just full of admiration for her.  She has lost all her hair now as well.  Bit like living on a kinfe edge for her all the family but we have to take  her cue and remain optimistic and give her plenty of support.

Well done for reading through all the posts. Very had to keep up now and I do feel guilty about not replying to everyone but having not done any housework for a couple weeks because I have been feeling so rough am now trying to catch up albeit slowly.    Poor Buzz hope he is OK, perhaps it is a reaction to being put in kennels or he has eaten something he shouldn't have done.

  • Cirrus thank you for telling us about Quietwoman what tragic news, my heart goes out to her.

  • Catch up completed and many thanks to all for all the news.

ALICAT you are not daft at all it is very early days and you have suffered a huge loss.  Good you took it out on  housework etc.  Casper knew how much he was loved and never forget that.  I have only lost one pet and that was a beautiful blue budgie called Joey.  I was absolutely beside myself with sadness but it does get better and now when I think of him they are happy memories.  Don't be too hard on yourself, take each day as it comes.

Lynette  thanks for the captures and Diane  for the barn owl news which does sound a bit distrurbing.

HELLO TO ALL  not mentioned but it so hard to keep upwith things now plus the site seems so slow again.

Enjoyed our Chas and Daved concert last evening and even had a little dance right at the end.  I did cough a bit but that was mainly due to the dry ice which was being used, got right into my throat.

Billy  has found a new place to sit and watch us now.  He sits on neighbours carport roof and looks into our dining room.  He is probably thinking they stare at me so I will return the favour.  We watched him yesterday afternoon luxuriating in the warm sun.  We really should watch cats more as they really know how to relax.  Really enjoyed his change of food I am pleased to say.

Have a good day all and take care.

  • My heart goes out to you too  Margo - such dreadful times many in our community are having. I am so sorry your  sister has had to endure chemotherapy (let alone whatever this trial treatment is!) . May the MRI results be the very best that they can be.   And I do hope you're going to take Billy 'in'   ?

Oh no!!!  I missed Casper's demise. I thought he was going on fine at long last. Dear oh dear  - I am so very sorry Alicat -he was so special.

Sorry  for the sadness in your life too Lindy  . I'm sure your friend very much appreciates your support.

After all that I just dare not delve into the Barnowl news.

  • We are going up to the Wirral tomorrow. OH will be seeing his eye consulatant on Wednesday and then the following Wednesday, so we will stay witth my sister. It is all very convenient, as this consultant has, over the last ten years, operated on OH's eyes for glaucoma in one eye and cattaracts in both eyes. OH still has to use drops to control glaucoma in one eye. The consultant has moved to the Wirral, and as husband wants to remain as a patient of his, we can combine seeing family and seeing consultant. OH's sight is fine but glaucoma always needs checkiing.

Wendy, Hope you have recovered from your long drive this morning.

Linda, Thanks for the Monday smiles. Always good to start the week with a laugh.
Yet more bad news for you and friends. It cannot have been easy for your friend to go and explain her situation to ' Stella'.
    Bad luck with your TV.

Cirrus, Yes, thanks for asking. All is very well with my family.

Sorry folks I will have to catch up again later. Just had a very long phone call with son, which means I am behind witth all my plans for this morning.
