As EJ prepares to leave for the journey south what are your thought? Has this been her best season ever or does she still harbour feelings for OVS and Henry?

As EJ softly slips away, her work all done,
We have to say
Our admiration goes with you
For all the care you followed through.
--
From eggs to tiny little chicks
You fed them, guarded them with sticks
And spread those wings in summer rain
To gently shelter them again.
As they all grew, you just stood by-
As teenagers, the sparks do fly!
You knew they'd grow up sleek and strong
As sisters, friends for all life long.
When time came soon to leave the nest
You did what you just know is best-
You waited in a nearby tree
As wings were tested, one, two, three.
Confident that all your brood
Would learn to fly, and find their food:
You watched them, guarding, standing by:
A hint of pride showed in your eye.
Now they're full grown and large as you
There is no doubt as what to do
But let them go, as go they will
Yet, keep them in your memory still.
Bravo, Linda, Bravo!!!
Smiles, Jan.
Agree with you all, EJ seems to have been an exceptional mum and brought up three beautiful babies to grow into handsome, if that is the right word, juviniles ready for their journey south. But not of course without the aid of Odin the Magnificent who was a model husband!! This is my first year at osprey watchin and have thoroughly enjoyed it, both highs (mostly) and the odd low!!!!!!!!!

Love your poem Lindybird
Glad you enjoyed it, Lynette, & Wattle, too. Pleased you have enjoyed this years dramas, with a happy ending this year, we hope, for all of the birds. I watched last year and was hooked even tho it was a bit sad in the end. See you next year!

Lovely poem Lindybird. Wish them all well
Libby :o)
Lindybird I am just back from holiday and trying to catch up with everything. Been reading your poems and true to form tears started to flow. This wonderful family are just so precious and my hopes and prayers are with them for a successful migration and that EJ and Odin return together next year. EJ is such a special Mum and what else can we say about Odin, he truly was magnificent. I just wonder has anyone put anymore videos on as I think it is going to take quite a while for me to catch up with all the blogs here and elsewhere. Would hate to miss anything. Now we will all be checking GE avidly to see how Rothes and Mallachie are coping. I am sure Garten will make it she was such a feisty little thing.
