The Bassenthwaite people are definitely intending to ring/tag (they got one sat tag back from Africa), but haven't heard anything about dates.

This week has been horrendous & I fear one of the chicks has gone but I am hoping against hope that it is deep in the bowl of the nest avoiding the torrential rain.
There is an update here & pics of one of chicks & XLs acrobatics collecting sticks.
Hope to have better news soon but I am worried sick

One Life - Live It!!
Val, I do hope that the second chick has survived but reading your report, you obviously don't think so. I would never question what you say, but I do hope you are wrong, just this once. Your photographs are superb, as always. I thought the ospreys just picked up broken branches. I never realised that they would put such effort into the task. Take care of yourself and thanks.
Hi Val and thanks for the update. Looking at your excellent photos I'm afraid I'd have to agree that you may have lost the second chick. If you can't see them both at this stage then it doesn't look good. The weather seems to have taken its toll on the number of youngsters raised this year, so at least you still have one healthy looking chick. Please keep us informed of developments - it's much appreciated.
Stunning photos, Val. Agree it doesn't sound good, but I do hope you are wrong about 2nd chick.
