original goldfinch I did remember that AW has a thing about plastic and likes to incorporate it into the nest. Farmers need to be educated on this one.
Margobird
Some very explosive news promised from Dyfi. Everyone on tenterhooks.
Tiger Signature
Tiger can't wait to find out about this news from Dyfi. Hope it is good news.
Having looked at their Facebook page, it has something to do with the identity of the new female then - but what news would be big enough to be "explosive?"

Well apparently they are getting the electric back tomorrow. They say 6pm for the news about the female. It must be that the "new" female is one we all know.

Or a bird previously thought to be male? Ringed as a chick outside the UK maybe?

Hope the news comes this evening - before I go tomorrow. Will be without Ospreys until I get to LG next Monday - unless I spot any fishing at Findhorn or Spey Bay!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
“explosive” – sounds intriguing.
I can’t imagine that it would be bad news such as the female leaving as that strikes me as “disappointing”.
Surely if the (non Monty) male had been back & described as female again by the team that would be “Inept”
Ringed outside the UK is “Interesting”
“Explosive” strikes me as fighting – maybe the second male is back on the scene & there has been a tussle with Monty??
Something very intriguing here. Osprey cam in Montana.
and what I think is the saddest osprey cams in the world. See Barbee Mill.
Well it turns out that one of the mystery females has a white ring on her right leg meaning she was hatched at either Rutland, Glaslyn or Bassenthwaite in 2007, 2008 or 2009. I guess Sue will sort that out! :)
