Thank you all for your kind words! I was totally mortified with this possible error! As a scientist, the importance of accuracy to me is paramount!
Will update more soon

One Life - Live It!!
Valmc No definitely nothing to worry about. In my opinion you have given us one of the most exciting days in ospreyland for a long time.
You have reminded me of so many past great stories.
The most charismatic young osprey for those of us who knew and loved him was a chick called Flag. He was a fourth egg and as such did not start with the greatest of chances in life. Even before he was born there was the mystery of the missing egg a story I have already related.
Flag is the little one in this picture. (thanks to ChloeB and DPOF for this)
The reason Flag comes up now that when a poster over at DPOF heard about Baldrick she suggested that Baldrick be called the Flag of Loch Garten. However since Baldrick was 2004 and Flag 2006 she modified this to say that maybe Flag should be the US Baldrick! Praise indeed.
This was a classic case of humans trying to help and in the process not helping. A family on Long Island had a goldfish pond which they opened up to "help" the ospreys. Well the result was that most of the fish coming into the nest were small and by the time it came to Flag's turn he often went hungry.
On 22nd June 2006 there was an event which I still think is the best ever moment in cam watching.
This was a moment when Flag was starving. But he had a cunning plan.
my comment at the time was:
Yes I think I will have to revise my all time favourite moment in watching this cam. I think it will now be that wonderful moment when Flag pecked Star in the rump and somehow Star blamed Stripe and gave him a good hiding. Best of all Flag snuck in and got a meal.
Now on YouTube. See My Turn.
BTW Stripe was the most vicious osprey chick I had ever seen until I encountered Nethy.

Awesome Tiger!
What great events!
There is no cure for this ospreyitis! O/h DOESNT UNDERSTAND!! It is serious! And I for one am refusing all treatment!!
Have an osprey packed day all!
Valmc what fantastic news. I am sure it must have been EJ and Henry's offspring. Are you in Scotland? Even if he's been ousted for now he's sure to find himself a nest and mate. With such good parentage the possibilities are endless....... :-)
An osprey has returned to Dyfi. Not confirmed yet but it is thought to be Monty.

Yes - Bridge of Cally! I hope he is still in area. There are quite a few osprey now locally so I really hope to see him again!
This is such a wonderful thread, with some amazing stories. Thank you all! Even if the bird you saw is not Baldrick, he is still a fine specimen.
