Glaslyn female went fishing for the first time this morning: (link) Interesting that she waited until all three had fledged - different tactics to EJ.
As I feared, there's no ringing or tagging at Bassenthwaite.

I agree Alan we were also discussing the amount of unattached juveniles we have sighted this year and back tracking how good a breeding season 2009 season was with favourable migration weather both ways. I think 2010 was just as good so we should see the same next year given good Autumn weather and next spring weather. Again the elements pay a huge influence in the numbers. Thanks for your info it was your sample that prompted me to call my colleague to see how he was getting on on the ground as they are now very busy with the ringing. I remember last year saying they could not get around all the young and many were left unringed but this year it is looking for a bird to ring. We should see quite a few unringed scottish juveniles both this year and next.
Still very light at Hailuoto.

Threave Castle ospreys were ringed on 06/07 with Blue rings JE and JF. One was 1.2kl and one was 1.6kl indicating a boy and a girl. I don't know which is which though.
Ems reports that Monty has been feeding the chicks at Dyfi.
