I am "on duty" at Bassenthwaite tomorrow all day, if anyone in the vicinity wants to meet. I believe there are good views of the new nest from the upper viewpoint through telescopes, won't be quite the same as seeing them swoop in though! I expect they will fly over occasionally.

Hello Terry, I probably can't go up there until after the Easter holidays now, due to relatives visiting. I did go there yesterday, up to the lower view point only, but saw the nest as there is one precarious telescope looking through the trees. The female was on the nest, and the male came in briefly. As you say the view will be better from the upper area. I agree about missing the swooping, it was a lovely view at the old nest. I am worried that this nest will not be big enough but suppose they know what they are doing..!Are you going to be doing any protection shifts? Oh, and have a lovely day !
