Weekly Chat, Sunday March 13, 2011

Evening all: Been out all day; now starting to think about dinner.  Back later to catch up.

  • Good Morning, Raining here this morning.

Lynette, Thanks for the lovely bear pics.  Will have to look and see if they have a video of all the action. Must have been lovely to see.

Margo, How are you feeling this morning ? I hope there is an improvement.

Annette, I was glad to hear that all is well with your GD and her new baby daughter. Congratulations and very best wishes to the new Mum, Grandma, and as I said above, to the Great  Grandma and all the family.

Patriciat, Sending so many hugs to you. Hope all the help you need is now going to be forthcoming. Sorry about the first two helpers, who are taking their guidelines on lifting and assisting, too literally. You must be both emotionally and physically drained by now. Please keep talking to us at any time.

Liz, Thanks for letting us know about the new blog.

Thanks for all your news and posts. Love Annette's cards.

  • Annette   Congratulations on becoming a great grandmother.

    Good afternoon bloggers

I have run into computer problems already - I started off on IE8 on my new PC, but quickly changed over to Chrome because I could not click and open any links from either my emails or from websites.  Chrome was fine & very fast - until last week when it kept crashing when running videos - Google Maps & street view was one thing that wouldn't work.  So I moved on to Firefox - which I have found very slow.  I keep getting timed out when pages are loading, plus the webcam does not seem to work with it.  I would rather go back to Chrome - if they get a fix - there seems to be a few people have the same problem.

Annette - I'm not new, but wasn't around much last year - I do remember having several early morning (for me)/late night (for you) chats the previous year.  :)

(Can't remember how to make names bold )  Done it - thanks

Off for a walk - taking advantage of the fact that we have nice dry and sunny weather - then back to work for the afternoon

    Janet

  • Glaslyn nest looks like it is in pretty good condition:

  • Jay-Me here is a reminder then. You make names bold by highlighting the word(s) with your cursor then pressing CTRL+B. If you want to remove bold you repeat the procedure.

I am now using IE9 and like it. I started off trying the beta and then the pre-release candidate and now have the finished product. I do use FireFox occasionally but must admit to preferring IE.

  • Alan - what depressing news! Will these sort of things never end.

  • Morning all: Thanks all for good wishes - I can take no credit at all for this shiny new person.  Gorgeous rose, Diane - and Auntie, love those tulips!  The shops are full of tulips now; (God only knows where they're flying them in from.)

patriciat: You are not complaining. Do let us know what evolves re help for OH.

  • Good afternoon all and what a wet morning we have had here although it seems to be stopping now and the sun is trying to show its face.  Billy doesn't do wet so has not been around so far today but obviously fed himself up during the night as his bowls were empty this morning.

Alan I cannot understand why people still want to poison birds of prey.  Those poor peregrines will probably have suffered a painful death.  You can only hope these wicked people will be caught but even if that happens will they get an appropriate punishment.  The Glaslyn nest is in fine condition, all ready to move into with a few tweaks here and there.  Just been looking at the LG nest and the snow on the nest has gone and it seems to be going down on the ground.

BrendaH  feel a little better but not much, lack of sleep a problem for me at the moment and also I have no appetite at all.  Couldn't even enjoy the excellent food in the hotel which is a real shame as it is my favourite food.

Cirrus  yes it was a bit of a damp squib all round.  What annoys me is the fact that we spent quite a lot of money doing something we didn't really enjoy and travelled a long way to do it.  As they say "that's life" and nothing we can do about it.  Hopefully our next trip to Florence will be more of a success.

Terry thanks for your thoughts and I will go to the doctor if I am not feeling greatly improved by Monday, nothing can be allowed to interfere with my LG trip which is going to be the highlight of the year for me.

auntie great cards for Annette and Eagle Owl.

Annette  many congratulation, a great grandmother   Pleased all the family are well.  You are right about Billy Whizz he cheers us up no end.  He is our pet although whether we will ever get him to come indoors and enjoy the conforts of a proper home remains to be seen.

    Diane lovely card for Annette.

LizFW thanks for new blog alert.  I expect you have seen that I was accepted as a volunteer and will be going up in June.  To say I am excited about it would be an understatement.

Lynette you really managed to capture some good snots yesterday.  I actually watched some of the action when Lily and Hope were outside the den.  There are 3 videos from yesterday which are good to watch.

Herton77 thanks for your post about copyright issues.  It will be a shame now if capture shots and videos cannot be done anymore.  I wonder if anyone has complained about the new set up at LOtL.  Sorry should have put this on the LOtL blog.

AQ Bily Whizz gives us endless amusement.  He really is a great little character and obviously knows we will look after him.  Loved the Friday Smiles especialy last quote.

original goldfinch know I have missed you but I did have a laugh when you and Eagle Owl were communicating via the blog.  Love the picture of EJ in the snow from last year, what memories.

WendyB we had rain most of the morning so guess you have had the same.  Hopefully you passed the time away with retail therapy.  Hope your youngest does not go down with an infection when you go back home with her.

Just popping this in as I have Lily cam up and Dr Lyn is there talking to them, think he is trying to get a radio collar on Lily before they leave the den and also to try and wipe the camera lense.  It must be early morning there.  How devoted he is his bears and I love it when I hear him saying "its me bear".

Patriciat so sorry that your OH has had yet another fall.  Hope he has not suffered any damage which did not appear when he first did it.  Must be such a worry for you  and not helped by the carers who visited originally.  Hopey ou will get the same carers who were much better again.  Can understand your frustrations but you talk away if it helps we are all here for you.  I know there are sad things going on in the world but you are being tested to the limit.

ALICAT Casper looks so sweet all wrapped up in his blanket.  Thanks for posting the photos.
