Weekly Chat, Sunday March 13, 2011

Evening all: Been out all day; now starting to think about dinner.  Back later to catch up.

  • Evening all: Busy day here. First call of the day was from daughter saying that granddaughter was in labor; two hours later another call that we now have a new baby girl in the family! All doing well. Grandson thrilled at being an uncle and OH, who's my daughter's step-Dad, can't get his head around being a great-grand-step-dad. Kids are still mulling names (yet another opportunity for me to keep my opinions to myself!)  :-))

Diane: I remember that segment of Prairie Home Companion - a classic!  :-) Thanks for the update on the dogs!

Eagle Eye: A very belated Happy Birthday (which our new little girl shares with you!)

Cirrus: Yes, we'll be starting a Daily Update as soon as there's nest activity.

AQ: Never heard of New Tricks. Love it that chocolate is a veggie! (Of course, I suspected it, but....)

    Jay-Me: Welcome!

    OG: Have a good trip.

Heather: Wow. Lots of comings and goings. Enjoy it all and take care.

Margobird: Oh boo! Rained out and a nasty cold on top of it! And after all your preparations. That's just awful. So sorry and yes, just ghastly for the local economy when things get messed up like that. At least you got a welcome back from Billy Whizz.

Tiger: Ha! Yes I remember Odin bringing sticks last year and EJ wondering if he'd lost the plot.

Heron: You won't be the only person shouting at your computer; there'll be a chorus of us, all with different accents.

patriciat: Oh dear, oh dear. Do so sympathize with all yours and OH's problems. It must be so hard, wondering what's going to happen next. Do know you can let off steam here.  I'm sending a big hug to you, special delivery!

Wendy: So nice that you're having a good time in Bath - lovely city.

Alicat: Casper looks so cozy and cute.

Spent all morning at the rose garden; then did some more work in our back garden. Tomorrow am taking the day off from "to do" list and having lunch with friend and maybe an outing to our favorite garden center. Have a nice Friday all. Hope all who are ailing improve quickly and all who are to-ing and -fro-ing do so safely. Is Lindybird back yet?

  • Diane: Celtic Thunder has been on our PBS stations quite a bit - but haven't seen it. Do have some wonderful Irish folk music on DVDs that always make me sad - remind me of my dear old Irish Mum!

  • Annette: Congratulations on becoming a great grandmother!!! Best wishes to the whole family.

  • Annette Many congrats on becoming a great-grandma! And Faith and Begorrah! A little honorary Irish girl.  Wish parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and, especially, the little one, many congratulations and a wonderful life.

Thanks to all for thoughts and prayers - I'm sure we'll get through.  Feel very bad about complaining when I think of what others across the world are suffering today.

    Love to all.

  • Congratulations Annette! :)

So very sorry to hear of your problems Patricia, do hope things turn out ok for you.

Bit of space news. Messenger is now in orbit around Mercury as of 0045 GMT today. What an amazing accomplishment.

  • Annette,

    CONGRATULATIONS GREAT GRANDMOTHER.

  • Alicat – Casper looks like he knows where to be, all cuddled up in his blanket.

Eagle Eye – (if you are still here) belated Happy Birthday, I was thinking that eagle pic would be a good avatar for you!

Margo – how awful to be ill and have rain for your holiday. Billy and the birds will help you recover, but make sure to go to doc if necessary, you won’t want to have to cancel your LG trip if it gets worse later on.

AQ – thanks for reminding me of that New Tricks episode, I think libraries should be quiet (that’s why I don’t go very often LOL).

Patricia – so sorry to hear of your OH’s latest fall, that sounds nasty.  Hope the carers get sorted out soon.

Annette – hello great grandma!  Bet that makes you feel ancient. I was wondering about Lindy too. Lovely rose from Diane for you, maybe you could change your avatar?

Hello auntie, lovely cards for Annette and Eagle Eye.
