Evening all: Been out all day; now starting to think about dinner.  Back later to catch up.

  • Diane - the almost full moon was stunning last night but unfortunately I got busy and wasn't watching when it was low on the horizon. Here's hoping the sky is clear again tonight.

Did you upgrade your PC to Vista then revert back to XP? I used Vista for quite some time and found it ok but prefer Windows 7 best.

Great magpie pic AQ, loved the ones of Casper too Alicat.

    Have a good Saturday everyone!

  • Good morning HeatherB  this is one holiday that will not have particularly happy memories but can't do anything to change things so will write it off and forget about it.  Hope you have a good weekend.

  • Lynette thanks for the captures.  I eventually managed to get the cam up yesterday and saw her feeding the bobbleheads.   Think there are so many people viewing this cam and that is the reason we can't always get in to watch.

  • Good morning ALICAT sorry about your keyboard.  I once spilt coffee all over my keyboard at work and completely ruined it.  I am always brushing out crumbs from the keyboard, shouldn't really eat while on PC.  Just love your pics of dear little Casper in his buggy.  He is so cute.

  • Good morning Heron 77 I agree the weather can do what it likes our ospreys should be here soon and as you say all the birds are singing, love this time of the year.  Great capture of the the  Aria & Vento cam, her eyes are just magnificent.

  • Good morning to all I have not mentioned and hope you have a good weekend.  After yesterday's rain we have a glorious day here although we did have quite a frost which soon went.  Garden birds not so frantic for food at the momentl, think they have their minds on other things.  Billy Whizz is enjoying the sun after his cold night and has been rolling around in the drive, feet up in the air and full of the joys of Spring.  When OH went out to go shopping he didn't even move from where he was sitting so he is not as nervous as he was because he would have run away a month ago.    Feeling a bit better today and at least had some sleep, just two coughing bouts during the night which was a big improvement.  OH will be working tomorrow so I will be able to watch and blog without feeling guilty.  Hope you all have some sun today, it makes so much difference.  Have even pegged washing out today, can't remember the last time  I did that.

  • Good Morning Everyone. Lovely sunny morning. I saw the very bright moon last night but not at the right time to appreciate that it looks bigger. Must look this evening, as it is rising, before any cloud moves in.
I looked at the nest earlier and only saw a female chaffinch, which seemed to be taking nesting material away.

I have just heard on the TV that Japan has suffered yet another earthquake, measuring 6.1, just South of the stricken nuclear plants. It was felt in Tokyo. It is still so frightening for those poor people.

Annette,  I hope you are able to sort out your problem and are able to see the nest ASAP.

Margo, Good to hear you are feeling a little better and are getting some sleep.

I have found this site so slow this morning and then unable to post so will try and see if I can post this.

  • Good morning Brenda H  pleased the weather is good for you too.  I saw the moon last night but didn't take in the significence of it, only that it seemed really bright which was quite odd as it had been  a wet and dull day.  Terrible news about another earthquake in Japan and so worrying about those nuclear plants.  I was watching yesterday when they were talking to a young mother with 2 children and as they interviewed her there were aftershocks.  It must be terrifying for them.  Site has been slow this mornng but seems a little better now.  Have a good weekend.

Have been looking at the Palemale site and Palemale and his new mate Paula have been seen mating and she is very busy bringing nesting material back to the nest.
