Have people noticed all these new rules of TLOTL site? What does it mean for captures and videos?
Tiger Signature
It certainly sounds as though we will have to ask permission doesn't it?
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Tiger that will be a shame if no captures or videos can be taken. Beginning to wonder whether the new rules are going to spoil things for people.

ThanksAlan for that link.
Have read the new blog but can't see any mention of new rules regarding screen captures or recording film clips - maybe I'm just being dense !! - could someone send me a link - thanks.
Perhaps it is in the email sent to previous commenters, and although I was registered, I've not received it.
Good to see so many familiar names on here.

At the bottom of the blog and the cam there are SITE RULES. These rules make it clear that you cannot use anything from the site without a licence.
Thanks Tiger, I hadn't spotted that, I posted quite a few videos on Youtube last year from LOTL for last years thread, I shall have to be careful as Youtube are very touchy regarding copyright, and I don't want to lose my account as I use it for music as well.
I can't believe they would pursue any action as surely publicity of this type can only be to their benefit, people watch worldwide.
Hi tiger does this mean that we are not allowed to take screen shots like we do with lg
index thread

Hi.
I think the short legal notice at the bottom of the page on some pages on the SWT site:
means that you can't use any content for the purposes of making a profit. For example if somebody was to decide to use an image from Loch of the Lowes in a book, they would need to gain a licence from the Scottish Wildlife Trust.
Screenshots from the Lowes and other SWT webcams clearly show a legend in the top right corner of the image stating they are property of the SWT. As in the following example.
I think overall what this means simply is that to use an image like the one above, with the Scottish Wildlife Trust logo, and/ or the Donate button image removed without prior permission, could result in legal proceedings.
This is the best way I can read the situation and I'd by happy to be corrected by any parties with greater knowledge of these type of situations than me.
Paul.
