Thanks for starting the Lowes thread for 2011. Here's to a brilliant season :-)
Thanks for the Courier article link but I must confess a wee bit of technophobia. When I click the link I go to the list of discussion topics. Which one should I click?. Sorry if I've not been able to see the wood for the trees. :-)
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Paul : Sorry about that. I posted the wrong link. Well spotted and its fixed now.
Alan: Many thanks. Its always great to read about a Super Osprey.
Hi everyone
Yes it is getting exciting now with sightings already "~"

Thanks for starting a 2011 thread for LOTL Alan. Being slightly further south there has been evidence in the past of Lady taking up residence slightly sooner than sightings of osprey at LG (from what I have read) so perhaps we will see/hear of ospreys in this area within the next week. Looking forward to the 2011 season enormously. Hope Sandra will join in again and fingers crossed for a successful season.
I can understand the SWT decision and sympathize with them in having to take this action, but it means that this thread will be all the more important for those LOTL fans, who wish to comment on the action at the SWT Dunkeld location.

ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data Site
Sat track schedule Spring 2014
LG 7 days; RW & SWT nil; LDOP varies
I would say this is a sensible decision by SWT and will better use their resources. RSPB seems to be better able to sustain our chat threads, partly because of our agreed self-discipline in separating general chat from comment.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Oh woe thrice woe
The SWT in their wisdom have decided not to let members and others respond to blogs, thay have turned off the comment facility.... What a retrograde step after all the wonderful poems and pictures that Shirley Davies compiled into a book. The purchase of which must have swelled their coffers.
The ciaim is that moderating the comments took up too much time.. Birdwatchers aren't very likely to post anything derogatory, blasphemus or pornographic are they?

Hi all
Great to see a new thread for a new year
Feel like I am emerging from hibernation. Have enjoyed reading posts on other threads re satellite tracked ospreys (Thanks Alan Petrie and others), Bassenthwaites updates, the Rutland Project's travels and Roy Dennis's excellent site, but looks like it's nearly time !!This will be my second season and am really looking forward to it and seeing the familiar names on this group.
Here's to a great year !!
