Hi I am taking my two grandchildren to Scotland in August, I have been to LG in July and been fortunate to see the Ospreys but will we be too late to see them around 15th, 16th August. We will be in a motorhome and plan a couple of walks in the forest beside LG as last year saw deer on the trails and thought Kiddiewinks may like to try and spot them.
There are almost always some ospreys around Loch Garten on 15th and 16th August. I have not checked the details but I think that even in the years without chicks there was at least one osprey around until late August.
Failing that there is always the Rothiemurchus fish farm.

Thanks Tiger. That's worth knowing. :-)
I live in Berkshire and it's a long way to LG. I would love to make a special trip to see the ospreys
Best wishes Chris

Hi Woodpecker, you don't have to go as far as LG, we have a nest in Cumbria, on the north side of Bassenthwaite near Keswick. That's probably "only" about 300 miles from you :))
Terry in Cumbria
Yellowhammer how lovely for your grandchildren and there could still be action round or on the nest. What a lovely way to spend a holiday.
