Welcome to another week. Do check back lest you miss the pics of many and varied birds plus a certain Toffee. And lots of news of course. Diane had another thunderstorm.
Diane - Uncontrollable children in olden days. Children were sent out to "service" as young as 10. Of course they ran away, thus breaking "Masters & Servants Act". Probably broke other laws as humans do. There were probationary school from which they also ran away. I found some twigs on my family tree who were regularly in trouble with the law - for playing the wicked game of two-up in pubs! Their 13 year old brother went one better (ahem), he broke into a school.
Patriciat - So sorry your OH has fallen again. Don’t worry about moaning to us. We do understand. I’m sending blue skies and healing thoughts to your house.
Our spring bulbs are appearing - confused by the unseasonal rain a few weeks ago. Poor things, there’s another possible 3 weeks of hot weather (34C so far today) and winter rains are not usual until May.
Whoo hoo. Less than 3 weeks to OR Day (Osprey Return day). I wonder what soap opera saga they have for us this year!
Annette forgot to say re Lola that Lincoln thinks she might have been poisoned as they were putting rat poison in the park. Parks department were told not to mention anything they found which had died. I think he has a long ongoing battle with them.
Margobird
Lily has been multitasking, having a good old rough and tumble with Hope and feeding Faith and Jason at the same time.
Well, I've just about caught up again. Was going to come on earlier but had the rep from Plumbs re loose covers. Said they could not help because of the design of our sofas and chair. Will just get some cheap covers instead and try to manage with them. Didn't get to the gym this week as OH has three days of exam envigilating at a local school Keeps him occupied for a while each time.!!!!
Patriciat - So pleased that you have had a response re OH. You need help and it looks like something is now going to happen.
Dianne - thanks for the great 'Monday smiles' quite amusing. Now going to do a bit of remodelling of your abode heh! I love watching Homes Under the Hammer on weekday mornings - what they do with houses or flats that have been left to decay or get rundown can be quite amazing. Well done you.
Margobird - before I forget, do have a lovely break. I know what it is like when you can't walk as far as you'd like. I've been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and because of the heart condition I have I get breathless reasonably quickly and walking becomes painful. Now, less of my gripes. Enjoy your hforoliday.
You and Lindybird away now, anyone else off for a break??

Margobird - I too wondered what Good Egg meant but a reply has been posted so will look at it later.Know what you mean be can't walk far. I have been diagnosed with spina stenosis and with the heart condition I have it means I cant walk very far without feeling breathless and in pain. Never mind, will plod on and there are those that are worse off than myself.
BrendaH - Well done on being awarded the "Good Egg" for February.
HeatherB - Its always good to get away and even though you said your OH is in his 81st year its lovely that you can still try and do the things you want to. My dad, although 80, did his last bird trip to Scotland(organised locally from his local bird group) and really enjoyed himself.
Alan - its good to hear that at least 2 ospreys have been sighted on their migratory paths - it won't be long now.
A few pics I took earlier this afternoon; Djuma - water buffalo, Tembe Elephant Park - lioness. then the ospreys
Hilton Head and Panama cams. The GHO and the lioness again.
Margobird - forgot to mention how good it is that your Nephew's wife has had her op and has come through it OK and will still be able to have children.
Great pics from everyone
MARGO have posted on your page. glad to hear your relatives op hs taken place. Always a relief. Know it is a couple of days away, but have wonderful holiday. We holidayed in Italy a few years ago. It was a package tour starting in Rome, we also saw Pisa. Venice, Sorrento, Florence and Pompeii( which for me was the highlight) Unfortuately as it was an all inclusive tour the food was not good. I remember mentioning to the tour guide one day that we were fed of of pork and she assured me we had meals other than pork and that the evening meal that evening would be either fish or chicken prompting OHs remark at the diner table that night "mmmm fish or chicken the trick is to tell which it is!!!" which prompted a lot of laughter. The tour was mainly Americans and they were great company, and despite the food we really enjoyed seeing the sights.
When I was driving home last night about 6.30 it was just about dark but something high up caught my attention - a big bird, definitely not a Kite as they're quite common round here. However, I was on a busy road just leaving a round about so couldn't have a long look, I wonder........
BrendaH : Congrats on the good egg award.
Hilton head just now:
After promising start this morning, day went downhill – cold wind from lunchtime and then rain added in late afternoon! HW again this morning, Dietician afternoon and then the ironing – all with short rests between. Dinner was relatively easy as I prepared a tagine in the morning and set the oven – wonderful tender local lamb.
Oh so many posts overnight and today! Thanks for them all.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
