Morning all: Much ballyhooed snow didn't materialize, we had a sunny day but very cold tonight with temps just below freezing. Spent the first couple of hours today online with Dell Tech Support after a website I clicked on (via Google) delivered a spyware program disguised as an anti-virus program (one of those things that suddenly lights up your desktop with alarming messages about threats to your computer). I ignored it and immediately launched McAffee to scan my computer, which found nothing. However, the spyware program (called Internet Security Essentials) wouldn't go away until Dell's remote support took over and did a super-scan and clean up (LOVE that service! So glad I signed up for it!)
Trish: They said it will take a while for the autopsies on the dolphins. Glad your OH remembered his training and sat still, even if Mia forgot!
Diane: Have never heard of the Nevada Triangle. Will certainly keekp an eye out for the program - we're watching DVD of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest right now. The UK is (it's rumored) is warmed by the Gulf Stream, which perhaps accounts for the daffodils, etc., while you're still dealing with weather from what I believe is called the Canadian Shield...
AQ: Our plants are in danger of drowning right now; have moved some of the potted plants under the eaves to protect them from any frost.
Lindybird: Had big laugh at image of you scraping your pizza off the floor - I'm a firm believer in keeping our immune systems challenged!! :-)) I shall be tuned in to the Oscars from the silly "red-carpet arrivals" pre-show all the way to the final curtain call, although I must confess to shouting a lot at the telly during the entire show. I think The King's Speech will do OK; Colin Firth was nominated last year for A Single Man but didn't get it; think he stands a good chance this time round (and if he doesn't get it, you'll hear me yelling at the telly all the way to the UK)!!
Margobird: Your sister sounds like a real gem.
OG: So glad you had a chance to make various plans with son.
dibnlib: "My fried egg has landed upside down on the floor?" Maybe that happens a lot in Russia? :-))
Hi to all I missed. Have a lovely Sunday!
Good mornng trish 2 have a good day with Fly and hope she does well.

Afternoon all what a difference dry weather makes to your outlook. Diesel and I have been taking full advantage of it and even though it is sometimes a bit chilly it doesn't stop us from exploring our parks. In the mornings I have been going to our Beveridge Park which is more formal than Ravenscraig which is more wooded and goes down to the sea shore. This afternoon I hope to go up to Loch Leven and have a walk round part of it on the country trail.
I hope those going on holiday have a great time and Margobird when you come back Billy might be so glad to see you that he will come indoors with you. The captures of eagles and of the GHO were great and I don't think the ospreys will argue with them.
Off to have some lunch now and then get ready to go to Loch Leven.

Just heard on the local news that the sperm whale died of starvation and dehydration. Tests are continuing.
George, Diesel and yourself are obviously enjoying your walks. You both must be so fit now. I presume Diesel enjoys the car rides as well
BRENDA saw your post mentioning the infamous M25. When we were at Strike Command OH used to have to go once a month to Uxbridge on M25. He used to leave very early and sit in the mess till meeting started because he knew if he left 5 mins later he would miss the start of the meeting. Also heard a funny story about people driving on M25 at rush hour (not that you can rush on M25) ladies putting on their make up while driving, people reading their newspaper on the steering wheel but the funniest was someone eating their breakfast cereal while driving.
GEORGE so very pleased that you and Diesel are to be a permanent item. Do you know what his background is? He certainly is beautiful. We have never used the word Master, We are Dillon's Mum and Dad.
Hi everyone. Three weeks today EJ is due to swoop into Loch Garten. I guess it is time to come of holiday. I have not been around for a variety of reasons but now I think is the time to start putting in a presence again.
I was prompted to post by Alan saying that he had not seen the Great Horned Owl in Kentucky. Well here she is. The one bird that ospreys hate is the Great Horned Owl since they are their one natural predator. I guess our Lake Barkley ospreys will have to look for a new nest as evicting a GHO would not be easy. So the first surprise of 2011.
The story is discussed at greater length over at DPOF.

Afternoon all,
Welcome to Toots from me also.
George : Glad you are getting on fine with Diesel and taking him for lots of nice walks. Also pleased that the weather has been good for you despite the cold.
Lynette : Thanks for all the pics. Not looked at Phoebe or the eaglets at Jordan Lake for a while. There is so much going on and the ospreys are not even here yet.
Margo : In case I forget or get side tracked with other things, I hope you have a great holiday.
Thanks to everyone else for the chat, etc
This morning we went to Downtown near Grantham and Lady P bought a couple of tops. Not spinning tops but the kind you see in clothes shops. We had a bit of lunch there and then drove back down the A1. Weather is very dull today with mist and drizzle so no more grass cutting. The Thunderdog has had his walk and I am now watching the footie on SKY.
4 eggs now for Appio & Vergine:

afternoon everyone
Sorry haven't been around this week. OH has had a major crisis with work so she has been dealing with that 24/7 and I've been sorting out the rest.
Hope everyone's doing OK
Just thought I'd leave you with this taken yesterday
We're not the only ones keen to see the ospreys return:

Hello everyone and welcome Toots!
Can you imagine, OH was doing the Daily Mail quick crossword yesterday and called through to the kitchen to ask me the name of a Norse God - four letters ending in N.
Not a lot happening here, when he is not doing puzzles OH is busy repainting fences and I am attempting some spring cleaning as we have house guests arriving next weekend. Tonight we are going to see The King's Speech. I read the book written by (I think) Lionel Logue's nephew - not sure if I should have seen the movie first.
Thanks to you all for pics posts etc. Take care, everyone.
Just checked - the book was written by Logue's grandson together with another author, following the discovery of documents last year.
Hi all, just caught up with all the news.
First of all, WELCOME TOOTS hope you enjoy our banter and of course Osprey Watch when they're back.
Gary - he's soooooooo cute.
Tiger thanks for the pic of the Great Horned Owl, managed to get one of it a few mins ago looking a bit bedraggled or it could be just the way she is sitting.
Alan - thanks for all the connections - I must say once we are all back on Osprey Watch, the eagle cams will have to take second place - magnificent though those birds are.
Managed to get the peregrine on one of the Italian cams and of course one sitting on eggs on the Rome one.
For those of us who are waiting for the great event to happen!taken in the evening of the 8th June, last year.
