Morning all: Here's to a good week for everyone. Check out latest pages of last week's thread to see great pix by OG of a kestrel on a road sign and a signpost for migrating birds and Gary's photos of the lovable Toffee plus his Toffee-proof technology. Just had dinner and managed to turn perfectly lovely piece of halibut into shoe leather! Hate it when that happens, but was busy watching weather forecast. Desk is looking cleaner - can actually see the surface now. Take care all!
We had a big thunderstorm with a spectacular lightening show this evening. Quite beautiful and peaceful to listen to. But now we're under a winter storm watch with "significant" snow predicted. Bah!!! All of the birds have gone for cover.
AQ: Lovely restaurant. I will have the profiteroles, please. Thanks for the skink link. :-) Glad you successfully conquered the IE upgrade. I hate doing those.OG: I hope you can get everything sorted to your satisfaction with the solar panel company. Must be frustrating.WendyB: Your dolphin experience on the Black Isle sounds wonderful. What a treasured moment.Terry: If I rode a bicycle that far, I couldn't move for a week -- at least. LOLAlan: Those were amazing pics of the osprey catching the Koi carp! dibnlib: Lovely alpaca kiss!
Everyone have a good Thursday!
Edit: I'm watching a program on PBS about the way life will change because of technology. They're talking about robots and the ways that they might serve us in the near future. Several people were interviewed and asked what they would want robots to do for them.
One woman declared, "I just want a robot who will do all of my ironing!" LOLOLOL
Not a happy read :(

Morning, All: A bit grey but promising to be a better day, here. Gosh, you have all been busy and I don't know if I can catch up - I didnt even have time to reply to some of you yesterday.
Have to do domesticated things this morning, then off to Visit Sweetpea this afternoon - they have an old mattress and two TVs which are large and need to go to the Tip (one of them is one of our old ones which we passed to them , but is now too big, and surplus to requirements). So they need our estate sized car to get rid of them.
Diane: Did laugh at the woman's robot remark! - it seems that women are universal in their hatred of the time consuming chore.
Alan: Noticed that you have posted a report about an osprey on British soil - Hooray!
I have decided that the winner of the "If I Won the Lottery Competition" is Diane, as she made me laugh so much in her decription of how passionate she felt about her hated shower! Poetry to follow, Diane - I shall think about it as I dash around today!!
Must go now.....
Oh, auntie, how sad. It does at least explain what happened.
WENDY Hope OH gets a good result from doctors today. It is a wonderful sight when you do see the Dolphins at Chanonry. Hope OG is lucky in Apr. Off for my first swim in a while then on to dentist. How are you fixed for coffee or lunch next Wed or will you have already left for your visit down South?
Goodmorning Everyone: Dull start to the day so as I have not been home much HW as been neglected so I have a plan but I don't expect I will stick to it.
Thanks Alan for Powderham osprey info... looking forward to my trip down south in 3 weeks as it just before EJ is due back but I will take the regular Wednesday walk with the guys at RSPB Arne and spot some looming over Poole harbour. Who knows they might take an interest in one of their new nests.
Didnlib: How spooky we blogged at same time!!!
Yes Wednesday would be fine...let me know your thoughts on where when and what time. Enjoy your swim...my day of rest ha ha. I refer to my previous blog.
For anyone who can get to "The Snowgoose" at Stoneyfield HEATHER Wed they are doing a steak night - 2 steak meals (sirloin, rib eye, or mixed grill) and a decent bottle of wine for £25. We enjoyed our meal last night and paid for separately it would have cost £39. Didn't include Wendy as she is vegetarian though it might suit her OH. Though if you eat fish Wendy as I know some vegetarians do I believe they do the same with fish on Fri evening.
Didnlib: That sounds better than the M and S dine in deals...no cooking and no washing up, Like it there as sometimes pop in when going to the cinema.
No fish as I am not a piscetarian ( as I am not one not sure of spelling!!!)
Morning all,
Much better day here and the big round yellow thing is back. Very mild with current temp at 10.4c and rising.
Took LadyP for a blood test this morning as her blood pressure is still high. Appointment was at 9.00 am so had to be up earlier than usual. Hamish woke us up at 7:15 anyway so no problem.
Very exciting news re the Powderham sighting yesterday. It was reported on Birdguides and also on the Devon birding site so it looks genuine:
