At 1.30pm on Friday 3rd April 2009 a new male osprey arrived at Loch Garten and began to woo EJ who has had a difficult time at Loch Garten since she arrived on June 16th 2003 having been evicted from her own nest.
At the time we said that we would give the new male time to settle in before passing judgent. As the season darws to a close maybe it is the time to say what Odin has come to mean to you and how he compares to previous Loch Garten males like OVS, Henry and Ollie?

Cirrus They are all lovely but I particularly like this one.
What about this one Tiger : Wot's down there then .....
In the pic you like Tiger - Odin's feathers look like a regal train (is that how I spell that kind of train? ) I think.

Re the main blog, the only recent post I made was a question , to which answer was there none, at least so far.
So if anyone is going to LG in person, could they ask this please? In the LG official events diary for the reserve or nest, at what time did Odin actually return, with his identity confirmed? We collectively think, it could have been about 4pm when EJ displayed, or it could have been 5.09pm when he flew above the centre with a fish, when all the volunteers, came running back to see him, or was it the close up shot we got on the webcam 6.23pm, when I saw him arrive on the nest, with a fish and I and others, posted a pic about two or three minutes later.
The reason, is that when I publish the Chick Stats, for 2011, I need the official data, not what we think, but cannot prove, except the nestcam sighting which is proof, but that may have been after the identification.
Do please tell, if you find out, I would appreciate the help very much. Maybe a message on my page too, in case I miss it here.

That is definitely one for the archives, Joan. They almost look as if they are posing for the camera.
Time for this Super Osprey to fly to the top of the page.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Heron he really is the top man, 6 fish yesterday.
Margobird
It is worth recording that during the storm on Tuesday Odin still managed to bring in fish.
