At 1.30pm on Friday 3rd April 2009 a new male osprey arrived at Loch Garten and began to woo EJ who has had a difficult time at Loch Garten since she arrived on June 16th 2003 having been evicted from her own nest.
At the time we said that we would give the new male time to settle in before passing judgent. As the season darws to a close maybe it is the time to say what Odin has come to mean to you and how he compares to previous Loch Garten males like OVS, Henry and Ollie?

Nice one Tiger. That gives me an extra reason to look forward to Mother's Day.

Tiger did make a prediction for Odin but think perhaps I should stick with you. Well done for getting it right.

I hope he is early too she needs some help to sort that nest out.
I always feel that she prefers to be 1st back, so that she can go fishing in peace and get her condition back after the long trek, before starting the family. I imagine her saying ' just lift up your feet whilst I hoover under there' when he is on the nest!
I wonder if Odin is into Britain now? Someone described the British part of the migration "a sprint". I guess it is for an osprey but I suppose it depends on the weather. This weather will not be helping Odin the way the sunshine helped EJ last week.
Yes the weather certainly seems to have taken a turn for the worse again, more's the pity. Can't see see him turning up early now.
Welcome back Odin.
