OK. I'm here - where've the rest of you gone? Just kidding. Let's see how this goes. If it gets onerous, we can change it.. It's about 2 1/2 hours to first light at LG. Back then!
one on nest cant see who, even though someone has very kindly zoomed in. its either rothes or mallachie being very vocal by the looks of things

I must have words with my girls - they once said they'd kill me if I signed up (when it was fairly new and full of girly secrets). Maybe they wouldn't mind so much now. I guess that this will still be the main site for posts about ospreys when the LG blogs dry up later in the summer. Do we know whether there will be any 'official' comments there on migration issues?

Yes there were official comments last year but not very frequently. It was usually Alice who posted the blog when they updated the google earth information.
I had the same response about Facebook from my children but apparently they can put you on a restricted list where you won't be able to access the parts of their profile they don't want you to see and so long as you don't post on their wall or comment on their photos you might get away with joining. LOL!!
And yes I just click on reply on the last post unless I want to reply to a specific person's post where I click reply by that post and click on the "Click to include in your reply"

a spooked Rothes just landed on the nest. It's pretty windy today making ID difficult as it's feathers everywhere. She's food calling...obviously wants brunch!
Birdnuts, I personally would prefer if these threads were mainly kept on topic - observatins of what's going on as it happens sort of thing but there will be the odd comment made along the way. Facebook is very popular and I'll come back with a link for you. Here you go... http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=7984&post=77701&uid=21788673077#/group.php?gid=21788673077 Your girls can make their pages private if they really don't want you to know whats going on!
I think there are intruders about, making Rothes very twitchy. Actually no, that's Mallachie now on the nest. I think. Oh dear....
Make the most of today because, unlike Sky+, there isn't a rewind button.
OK, so the camera person is scrambling my brain this morning. The camera zooms out and we find two birds, Mallachie AND Rothes on the nest mantling and getting, quite frankly, a bit stroppy. There are intruders about.
Ha Ha Ha...just have to post this image of Rothes mid collapse into the nest for a lie down...
Perfect timing!
Oh my goodness, did you see that? We had views of the intruder...oh how very exciting!
I think it was views of an intruder...it all happened so fast!
Garten (I presume) is on the camera post, both Rothes and Mallachie are on the nest.
Garten -
Thanks for the info and photos Paula. after initially seeing one of the chicks land on the nest i lost my internet connection (5th time this morning-GRRRRRRRR). i am going to sign out for now as nobody here today to have a look for me. i really think if i have to re-boot system again i think i will literally boot it! so i think some retail therapy might smooth things over. catch you all later.
All calm on the nest now with lovely close ups of Mallachie (I think) and Garten.
morning/afternoon all
Thanks Annette for getting us rolling today
Not much to add as not much feeding going on but lovely views of the two chicks in the sun:)
(very quick off topic point-Birdnuts, if you join Facebook, you can choose to have as much or as little information about yourself on there. Also your daughers would need to accept you as a "friend" for you to see all their stuff. So you joining doesn't mean you would get to see all the stuff they are doing.......)
Rothes currently sat in a tree, her head glowing orange as the wind blows.
