Rothes is sitting on the camera post preening herself, her beautiful orange nape blowing in the breeze.
She flies off at 10.26. Did I say breeze? It's pretty windy at LG this morning.
Make the most of today because, unlike Sky+, there isn't a rewind button.
Mallachie finishes eating and departs the nest.
Thanks everyone (inc Paula) for the fantastic stills of the birds. It fills in the gaps when we can't watch video. I guess that after the birds have flown for Africa, the LG blog will cease and this will be our main site for swapping news on their migration and other osprey-related stuff. I'm all for keeping it simple with a daily news trail (anyone up early can start a new one) so that we don't have to search amongst all the threads and also that each one doesn't get too long. How does that sound?
Wow, fantastic picture Stuart P. Thanks for putting it up for us all to see. Just been watching one of our aerialed chicks on the nest nibbling at some fish. Not sure which one it was as she was facing forward so couldn't see her nape.
So glad to have found an observations thread to read and comment on.
The pictures of the birds are magnificent!! Thanks This is great that pictures can be posted here. Has anyone gotten a close up of Odin?
I agree that a daily news thread is perfect. It can be cumbersome to wade through a few days posts to find the latest news.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for.....and what this thread is all about.
Right now, Garten (I think) is sat on a tree having a preen.
Oops, spoke too soon....she's off!

Garten (I think) is on a tree calling....
That's it for the still images for today :-(
...and a pan back to the nest and we await some action. Better go and feed my boys now!
Well here is my first attempt at posting a screengrab. Garten in the tree preening
YAY it worked!!! First go too. Now I am really chuffed. :0)
Wow Stuart that is such a fantastic shot. Once again shows the value of this new format. Put that in the gallery too. I guess we need an osprey gallery.
