AN ATTEMPT AT HELPING SOME WHO SEEM TO BE STRUGGLING HERE

We still have our original Loch Garten diary blog and lots seem to prefer that.

Here is my attempt at an explantion on how to use this new site we have now.

If  you click on GROUPS at the top right another window opens that shows 2 groups just now

The Lodge  (15 members)
Loch Garten osprey (152 members)   Aren't we are doing well after only a week.

Next click on the Loch Garten opsreys (in blue).  That takes you to the loch garten list of FORUMS.
Click on one of these and then you can choose to have the replies e-mailed to you   OR not e-mailed to you. 
This option is top left under the heading of the first message.
You can read the forums and reply to them from there.
Each person who posts a message has an Avatar beside their message and underneath the Avatar their total number of posts in the group.

Your Avatar can be changed in your own profile. 
Click on MY PAGE along the top.   Then when your page opens click on Edit Profile - under your name.
Over on the top right is your Avatar.  Underneath it says 'change avatar'.  Click on this. 
You can then click on Upload my own Avatar which opens another window where you can browse your computer for the picture you want to use as your Avatar.  Click on the picture you want to use then click on Open.
That takes you back to the browse button where the link to your Avatar should now be showing.  All you
need do then is click on 'Use this avatar' and the new one should be showing in your profile.
Once you have done this make sure you scroll down and and click on save changes.  It might tell you that you will have to wait for the changes to take place.

Adding a photo in Galleries is similar to adding an Avatar except you choose image and the browse window
opens.  Once you have added a photo you have the option to delete it later.

Clicking on Forums along the top seems to be the place to go if you have any technical difficuties,

Clicking on the Blogs takes you to a list of blogs other people have about various things - all very
 interesting and informative.

I'm not sure if it is appropriate for me to post this here but if it helps just one person get sorted

Also, IMHO I think we should try to keep the number of headings down to a minimum to save having to search through to find them later.
Another hint is to click on the highest numbered page to get to the latest messages in a forum instead of scrolling through them all. 
Page numbers are at the bottom of the list of messages.
