Tracking Rothes and Mallachie

I am not sure if we should have separate threads for Rothes and Mallachie. If people feel we should the best start them right away.

The first data has been published on Google Earth and immediately it is amazing how much further Rothes has flown that Mallachie.

  • Brilliant.  Great to read that Rothes has now reached France.  It will be even more interesting to see which route she takes back when she decides to head back to Africa.  Not that I am wishing the time away, just very interested.

  • Now that Rothes has visited the Sturgeon Farm twice she may make it  her annual  stop over  location. Dr Jones needs to  get going on his "Rothes Caviar"

If he used her picture on the label it would be an incentive to go out and  find her to take a picture.:)

Anyone any good at writing songs? Like "Rothes is coming home"......a bit like Frank Skinner's 1996 football song?

    Rothes' Return

I came back to my homeland
After a spell o'er the sea:
I wanted to show how fine an
    Osprey can be -
As large as the sky, as brave as a lion
I'm Scottish, and fearless, and ready to fly - on!

    (backing group   "  I'm free -ee   ,  I'm freee - ee..." )

Chorus:    "Homeward I fly, homeward again, I've left behind Africa, France and now Spain....."

    - you'll have to make up your own tune - I can't write it down!

Fantastic Lindybird   Now all we got to do is to get someone singing it. Singing is one thing I cannot do. Not even one wee bit!

  • Me neither - don't ask me!!!!     ;-)

  • - come to think of it, perhaps we'd better just forget it!  Don't think it would make an entry to the Eurovision Song Contest !!!!

  • Just brilliant Lindybird, thanks.

  • Looks like it was only a brief stopover at the Sturgeon Farm. According to GE she's heading rapidly north.

  • Thanks margo - only meant to be a tongue-in-cheek, bit of fun!

-- how exciting that she's now off North again!  how far will she come????

  • I can't sing either.  Great words though.
