I am not sure if we should have separate threads for Rothes and Mallachie. If people feel we should the best start them right away.
The first data has been published on Google Earth and immediately it is amazing how much further Rothes has flown that Mallachie.

This is the wider picture with the 2 locations shown at the gravel pit. Gravel pits when filled with water often contain lots of fish as there is as Barnwell CP and Thrapston which are both disused gravel pits.
Rothes' gravel pit has changed shape since my old tourist map of the region was printed, so yes I agree it is man made. Also very close, running from the west, past the gravel pit to the estuary is the 'Chenal de Guy' which is confirmed to have fish, surprise, surprise, but not very interesting to an osprey perhaps.
Le medoc, Chenal de Guy.
The fish are, eels (are they fish?), white fish (also not a good translation) and 'carnivores' (whatever they may be).
No luck with more info on the said, gravel pit. I am sure I have driven around on these roads though, I have visited the Medoc and other areas of the Gironde in the past.

Such a pity the updates are so infrequent.
I was hoping that at least while she is migrating we would get more up to date tracking.
On the 2nd she looked like she was starting to head north again. If so she must be back in Scotland by now.

The latest points are fo 9th July and she was still at the sturgeon farm then. I guess a new set of points are due today.
Do not worry if she was in Scotland we would all know about it very quickly.
Thanks Tiger. How do you find this out? MY GE only has up until the 2nd.

Well I can only tell you what my computer says. It sound as if your GE is not updating to the latest version of data available. Perhaps you should try clearing your cookies and temporary internet files to ensure that you get the latest data.
Prasad,
Tiger, Alan Petrie and I are clearly all in agreement that we have GE data for Rothes up to 9th July, and no-one else has disagreed. As proof, see the screenshots including points for the 9th, which Alan and I posted higher up the previous page. This update took place on Monday 11th.
This seems to be a problem which only applies to you, and I suspect it's to do with the settings on your PC. I suggest you refer to this page, and check that you are set up in accordance with the instructions. If that doesn't work, you could try deleting the LG Ospreys folder and setting it up again?
A question.......
This Topic has been running for 2 years now. I recollect that we planned to start a new Topic this time last year but postponed it, because the 2010 chicks hadn't been tagged, and Rothes was staying put on Unhocomozinho.
Do we think it's time to
a) have a new Topic for tracking all Ospreys from Loch Garten i.e. Rothes, Tore and Bynack, and
b) also start a separate new Topic for all the "others", as we do for every migration.
This seems the most natural split to me, as there may be people who want to focus on Loch Garten's ospreys without grappling with all the names, different websites and reporting systems involved in following the others.
If this is Ok, I will draft the opening posts and start the threads - but I won't put the new LG one up until Bynack has fledged!
Sue C Those proposals seem good to me.
Sounds good to me, Sue.
