Hi everyone.Welcome to another week. A week that brings us closer to the return of the Ospreys. Hooray!
Happy Sunday!Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Phew – another busy day - shopping. After two busy days before, I was exhausted when we got home, so OH went out for takeaway to save me cooking – we shared one Indian meal and naan bread and it was excellent – and enough after a good salad lunch at the garden centre. Have been able to adjust tomorrow’s menu so nothing will be wasted.
On our way this morning we passed a lovely female Kestrel sitting atop a bush, then coming home, we hit the right time this side of Gretna to see the Starling spectacular, as several swarms gradually combined to make a larger swarm before landing at the edge of the Solway.
We have just now completed our last weekly update of our church website – so that’s another job finally handed over to someone else!
Alan – I don’t think OH would use paint before everything was totally frost free and dried out, but this stuff is porous so we decided to go ahead to be able to get planting done around it. Pleased you can get the ointment online for Hamish at less cost – still a lot of money, but I expect being eye ointment a tube lasts quite a while. Is next Wednesday’s Vet appointment decision day for whether he needs an eye op?
Dibnlib – sounds like a good afternoon out yesterday – sunny days this week have definitely been warmer. Good luck with the Calcium tablets – assume they also contain vitamin D for absorption?
Lindy – so glad you mentioned Dog’s name – I seem to remember most of the dogs’ names on here, except for a mental block for Buzz! Pleased you are being sensible, reducing visit and also buying goodies rather than struggle baking – after all, you don’t want to be worn out and unable to enjoy their visit.
Paul – sorry about your weather and lethargy! We all need spring … now!!
Heather – I hope you will get to LG this summer! You say you are not having a holiday, but you are going all the way to Llangollen for a canal journey – not bad for a non-holiday!! I hope your OH won’t do a re-run of his previous experience!
Gary – that is a wonderful video - but I hope Alison didn’t get her bottom frozen to the snow!
Wendy – sorry your OH is having to make life-changing decisions for other people’s careers – not pleasant, but I suppose somebody has to do it in these current times. Hope you enjoy a good walk tomorrow. Pleased to hear Daisy May is not eating her bed – obviously appreciates the comfort!
Talking of bed, might get an early night soon. “See” you all tomorrow.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Sorry OG - I meant that we weren't going away in the Summer as in June July or August . Canal boat holiday is in April, so we may not get great weather. Whatever, we will enjoy it. Since I was a child I have loved the feeling of being inside (usually with a good book) and listening to rain beating on the roof.
Just back from evening with a dear friend, our favourite curry house (Rajah, Inverness). The longstanding staff there never seem to look any older whereas friend and I often feel ancient after going there for 20+ years. A bit like seeing all policemen and doctors as being very young, I suppose-----
Just caught up with todays news. So many to answer so will give a general thanks. Been pottering around again today. Weather cloudy interspersed with sunshine.
Lovely capture of Norfolk eagle, and Alan of the nest at Dunedin. Have managed to get it up but nothing doing at present. Phoebe's two are still around will post pics in a minute. Not too much action at Lily's Den but lots of sound earlier.
HeatherB glad you enjoyed your night out with friend.
Eagle taken late afternoon here and Lily, Phoebe and Bea and Jay taken a few minutes ago.

AQ love the Friday smiles
Alan - what a ridiculous price for the cream, glad you found it cheaper on the internet. Just love the pic of osprey on the Dunedin cam.
Gary - what a cutie with Alison - looked like they were both enjoying the snow.
Alicat - thanks for confirming that 3 eggs are now at Norfolk, haven't been able to spot them when she gets up they are so well hidden in the moss.
Margobird, OG, Brenda, Lindybird, Annette, Dianne, and any whom I have missed out, thanks for your posts, lovely to read whats going on.
Have a lovely weekend all.
Aren't they adorable
Hi i managed to get a couple of pictures of the hampton eagle eggs

Evening all:
OG: My OH is a great believer in "anytime" jobs; I'm a 'no time like the present" type - but unfortunately there's never enough "present." Hope you get to rest over the weekend.
dibnlib: A dog with "a larger vocabulary than some people." :-) How true. Have been on calcium citrate with Vitamin D (apparently best in terms of absorption) for some years now. I heard a radio program last year about the "selling" of osteopenia as a "condition." It was linked to the marketing of the then-new bone density scanning machine, which is expensive, and the need to persuade medical groups, etc., to by it to diagnose this "condition." Apparently, the benchmark readings for osteopenia were set somewhat arbitrarily according to the report. It was a lot more complicated than that, but it made me wonder......
Heather: Oh dear - I missed that your SiL was promoted. Good for him. (Would be nice to think it might keep him out of harm's way.)
Alan: Geez. What's in that ointment that Hamish needs? Glad you can get it for less online. (Please don't tell me it's produced by an American drug company; one that probably still owns the patent.)
Lindybird: We've cut back on Lightning's treats with the result that she's not such a butterball as previously (maybe I should try it!). Smart to ask the family over for one day only; no point in overdoing it and ending up sick again.
Heather: The canal boat trip sounds like, but keep an eye on your OH this time. :-) Re all those young folks, I can't believe it when I see various experts on telly who all look like my grandkids!
Gary: Toffee is bigger than I imagined - must be nice to have your OH back! Made me shiver seeing her sitting in the snow!
Wendy: How awful for your OH to be in the position of possibly having to let employees go; that must be so hard, especially as he's become friends with them. There can't be an easy way to go about it.
Alicat: Great pix of the eggs - I wonder how close that camera is; seems right on top of the nest.
Daughter and Oro will be here tomorrow night prior to our leaving for Arizona Sunday morning. Oro is going to take up the Entire Back Seat of the car! We'll probably spend the night somewhere en route and get to Prescott Monday around lunchtime. I'll be back Thursday. Incidentally, Trucker Steve is heading to Utah for his next trip and his ride East from Sacramento over the Sierras should be spectacular (another very familiar road).
Thanks all for pix and posts; take care!
Where is everybody? I woke up early and couldn’t get back to sleep, so we both got up, but now the morning is disappearing! Probably going to a coffee morning later, as weather is misty and not enticing us into the garden so far!
Heather – April seems mighty early for a canal cruise – especially if anyone is going to fall in! Having said that, we shall be braving Black Isle and Speyside in April, and actually it can often be really pleasant in April, so long as the March winds have known when to give up!
Annette – I hope the mighty Oro is not a back-seat driver, and that you stay safe on the trip. Pleased that you have decided on an overnight rest, especially with Dog on board. I wonder whether Lightning will remain his new slim shape while you are away?
Lindy – I hope you will have a truly lovely day with the family today – and then a rest tomorrow.
All – have a great weekend. We plan to meet Terry and her OH at Caerlaverock on Sunday – looking forward to that.
I'm here, OG, and when I finish I will telephone you to make sure I have the correct area code (you were being "cryptically careful" last year). Looking forward to tomorrow, rain or not.
Gary!!! what a sweetie, thank you (and Toffee's cute too).
