Weekly Chat, Sunday February 6, 2011

Hi everyone.

Welcome to another week.  A week that brings us closer to the return of the Ospreys.  Hooray!

Happy Sunday!

Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • Good morning Lynette and thanks for all your captures.  Don't think Bea and Jay will be in that nest much longer now if they haven't already gone.

  • Good Morning ALL. Light rain here at the moment but just waiting for Margo's heavy rain to reach us.

Margo, A nice surprise to find the money. Sound's as if BG are being very efficient and you won't have the problem of the leak now.

Auntie, That picture is so funny. I will look at the others later. Thanks.

Emma, So good to hear from you. Sounds as if you are working hard so hope tp hear from you as often as you can.

Paula, Always lovey to hear from you.

Lynette, Thanks for all the pictures. Glad to hear your daughter's hospital visit " went well".

OG, Minus ££££'s, but it is always good to see something that you really would like for your birthday.

Wendy/ Dibnlib, So pleased to hear you both enjoyed your  three hour meeting.

Linda, Good to hear that you are coughing better and feel able to face the day.

Just suggested to OH that we go out for lunch. All housework and laundry is done and I don't want to sit and look at the rain all day.

  • Good morning original goldfinch and your new pictures sound lovely.  Homemade apple chutney and plum jelly sounds good too.  Was a good evening for you with your raffle prizes.  How kind of you let them redraw second one thus giving someone else a chance.

  • Good morning Terry M I downloaded MWsnap a couple of weeks ago and got as far as taking a capture shot and then got stuck as I couldn't work out how to transfer it to the blog.  Will keep trying though as I would really like to be able to take captures of our ospreys when they arrive.

  • Hello aquilareen and OH and I were thinking the same about Billy.  Just want the weather to be nicer and then we could move it nearer the conservatory door and maybe even put it just inside the conservatory in time.

  • Good morning Emma Peel nice to see your post.  I had hoped that Steed may have found employment by now but can see from your post you have taken on extra work to help out.    Have thought about you when Scotland had such bad weather and on looking at the Loch of the Lowes cam can see there is still snow on the ground there.  Hope thins will improve all round for you and Steed.

  • Margo, that's the bit that Lynette referred to last night in her reply to me. You have to save the pic and then when you do a reply on here, click Insert Media (the green thing after "Body" and before your typing) and Browse for the saved image. It sometime takes a long time so don't be too impatient! Good luck!

  • Good morning Alan  from a rather wet Poole.  At least it will help to top our pond up without having to get the hose out of winter wrap.  All going fairly well with new cylinder, but bit of trouble with airlock but that even seems to be going now.

Thanks for the captures of those beautiful eagles.  How can you not marvel at nature when you see pictures like this

Hello to everyone I have not mentioned, hope you are well.

  • Thanks TerryM  and I will keep trying.

  • Thursday – looks a decent day so far.  Now to start replies – so this will probably stay open in Word all morning until I am through!

Gary – that snow is going on rather – I hope the Horses are tolerating it well.  Pleased that Toffee is such a contented wee Miss - don’t think TT is acceptable either! (see others commented on that one too!)   I noticed that the former Miss Lime rests on a lime-coloured cushion!  I thought you were dealing with your own snow-ploughing no, so was surprised that man came to clear the latest lot.

Annette – see you had some time pottering in the garden (whichever day it was), and good that you got the opportunity to go to the concert and, I see, enjoyed it.  Thanks for description of terrain around Steve’s route into California.

Brenda – so pleased the council van came nice and early so that you weren’t waiting all day.

Lindy – you really have had a rough time – sounds like you should have taken a complete rest from everything – but pleased you are “on the mend” now, and good that you have The Visit to look forward to this weekend, but don’t overdo the preparations.  At least if you are “coughing better” you will be shifting some of the stuff from your chest.  Your event with the car sounds really scary – especially when you consider what might have happened in the middle of the junction.  We are moving a leather Owl picture from lounge into the study, to hang the new photos (they are complete with frames).  We only have two pictures awaiting framing right now, and they have spaces nominated.  I do have three Owl birthday cards which I intended to frame – still undecided.  Raffle prize was the first one drawn so we had first choice and picked out box of Bendincks Mint Collection – don’t do alcohol.

Alan – I think our big garage clear out is the same one we “must do” last spring!

Margo – how lucky to have so much money that you don’t know where it is!  I am unlikely to find money in my handbag as I hardly ever use it – too cumbersome when using walking sticks etc (often get asked why I get wet rather than use an umbrella – answer: am I supposed to hold it in my teeth?)  OH usually carries our money and I can usually find a hand to hold out when I want something – so lucky me too!  Pleased that you are happy with the cylinder replacement work – nice when they get it right – especially when “free”!

Lynette – Phoebe’s giant babies must surely go soon – thanks for posting their updates and saving me time looking on their site!  Pleased the day of appointments went well.

Diane – I don’t really have much energy – it just comes in occasional bursts, so I take advantage of the good days (and usually pay for it the day after!)  Also there aren’t many things I do completely without the help of OH – lifting, bending, opening, peeling etc etc – and clearing up after me!  Looked in on Trucker last night (early afternoon where he was) and saw the big wide blue sky and the Californian sunshine!  Sorry your temps are still below freezing.

Emma – good to see you again.  Sorry you are working extra again, having cut back on hours last summer – I do hope work turns up for your OH soon.  What happened to his HGV plans?

AQ – hope you had a reasonably cool night after your very hot day.  Good that you have enough tomatoes to freeze – I love to store some away for winter too – good that Lizarda is still around, even if she is enjoying your crops – what would her normal diet be?

Auntie – pleased you have a better day for your errands.  Loved that expression on the Eagles’ faces when being sat on!

Dibnlib – pleased you and Wendy had a good time together.  Hope Doctor appointment was helpful this morning.

Wendy – pleased you had a good afternoon with Dibnlib!  Lovely picture of Daisy May – so proud of her new bed!

Brenda – enjoy your lunch – assuming he said yes!

Posts kept coming while I was replying during coffee time – finished now and apologies for length.  Weather still excellent - maybe an hour directing operations in the garden while cleaner is here this afternoon.  Have a good rest-of-the-day all!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
