Weekly Chat, Sunday February 6, 2011

Hi everyone.

Welcome to another week.  A week that brings us closer to the return of the Ospreys.  Hooray!

Happy Sunday!

Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • A lan Bah!! My OH is watching the match and it was obvious from his shout of excitement thay Scotland had scored but he had to rub it in by calling to me that my team was now one goal down.

  • Linda, that does sound very scary. Glad you got it to a position out of the middle of the road.

Margobird. How nice to find the money. Can't remember that happening to me! lol

Trish2, I was hoping to sneak that past you! lol. We have 2 horses. Nice that you had them but even 1 can keep you very busy and poor! lol.

Super screen shots from everyone, thanks

We had a bit more snow yesterday but the plough man came and took care of it.

Auntie, nice to see you. Sounds soooo cold.

    Enjoy the football everyone:)

Enjoyed all the other chat and news

  • 2-0 Scotland at half time, its about now that Odin should deliver a fish if he was here. Maybe he is having a half time fish in W Africa.

  • Diane: Thanks for the Big Rig heads up - I checked early this morning and he was still in Phoenix, but now rolling West. Yeah!  Indeed, the sun is out here - but being as it's night in the UK, many folks will tune in tomorrow when he's already in (ugly) LA.  :-(    I see he's taking Interstate 5 north out of LA to Tracy - should be fairly good although the Central Valley is pretty flat.

  • I'm watching Truck Dude, it's pretty flat. Are those mountains in the distance, or heaps of stuff nearby?  He's quite hard to watch as he doesn't get going until our pm, so if no time to look in the evening I've gone to bed and missed him.

I'm also watching Phoebe's babies, who look ready to go, but I expect they'll hang on until the last minute.  It's a shame we never see them come back to the nest, like osps.

And since I'm on, I'll also go and look in on Lily and Hope and babies, I usually just catch up on FB or the website.

    I am not watching football...

BTW although I failed, after initial success, to take a pic on MWSnap last year, it has just worked with Phoebe, so I don't think it's me! (Not sure what it could be though...)

  • Hi everyone.  Like Paula, I too am lurking in the background enjoying everyone's chat, pics and updates, etc.  Glad to see Scotland doing well in tonight’s footie  match and had to smile at your half-time fish comment AP.  Sorry you have been poorly recently but hopefully Scotland's performance will give you a boost. Dundee FC are still clinging on too.

Just a few good wishes firstly to Lindy – hopefully you have finally shaken the wretched bug off and thank you for Monday smiles and poems. Awful experience with car but thankfully sorted now.  Annette - hope you have a good trip to AZ and like others I too was amazed at the return of the whale count – seems so soon. Margo – thinking of you and sister. Hugs to you. Gary – adorable pup pics. Glad you have resources in your area to cope.  Still very cold where you are Auntie.  We continue to have snow around Perthshire  and the Dundee area intermittently and had some at the weekend.  Of course there is still plenty of snow up north and the gales last week apparently cut off communications in the Cairngorms and surrounding (LG) area.  I spotted a snowdrop peeping above-ground in my garden yesterday so there must be a hint of spring on its way.  George – hope Diesel is settling into a routine with you now.  Sounds like you are enjoying the opportunity to get out and about with him especially as we are moving into spring/summer when you will have far more daylight in which to enjoy each other’s company.

I have taken on extra work to help with family commitments, etc so not around during the day but will continue to pop in when time allows. Sorry I can’t mention everyone else by name.  Looking forward to the return of the osps.

  • Back again, hi Emma Peel nice to see you looking in.

Just had a look at the trucker, it is flat country but you can see the mountains in the distance.

    Alan - good capture again.

Tonights pics - late afternoon there.

  • Lynette - No, no, I’m not in the choir - we don’t have one, the whole (!) congregation sings. I have no voice anymore - I’m one of those creaky fading-in-and-out ones. LOL. It was a "rite of passage" when we reached a certain age (12-ish?), our mother encouraged sisters & I to join church choir. One of my sis still sings, in a group that goes to nursing homes. Hey do keep up the pics as then I don’t miss out when I have too little time to view all the web cams, etc.

"Super granny" was featured on our TV & paper. A pity the louts’ own granny hadn’t done the same to them years sooner!

Auntie - How can it still be so cold up your way. Oh, yes we still have it too hot. Last night they predicted 33 for today, but this morn they have upgraded it to 35.

Wow, Brenda, that was quick with your furniture. I would have expected to be waiting all day until the last 10 mins.

Linda - You’ve had that bug long enough! Scary with car. It makes you realize how much we rely on things working as they should.

Margo - I wonder what Billy Whiz would do if you gradually moved his food closer and closer to the door . . . and one day left it open?

Annette -My mother used to throw coins into bottom of her handbag. When she met a grandchild or 2 or 3, she would deal out whatever was there.

Diane -Thanks for Big Steve’s link I haven’t looked at it for a while. Now I can claim to have been to Arizona!!! So flat. Do those mountains ever get closer!?! I must look in a bit later.

I have picked so many tomatoes that I shall soon freeze some for winter casseroles. They are not big, but oh so tasty. Lizarda thinks so too, she ate another half yesterday.

  • Virtually no activity in Lily's den at present.

Hospital visit for dau went pretty well, saw financial advisor later and suggested some investments for income.  Tidied up the garden a bit.   Weather here has been fine, cloudy, sunny, cloudy etc but not too cold.

    Take care all.
