Weekly Chat, Sunday February 6, 2011

Hi everyone.

Welcome to another week.  A week that brings us closer to the return of the Ospreys.  Hooray!

Happy Sunday!

Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • OH has been champing at the bit to get to Tiso this am. He has had his eye on a greengage coloured Paramo waterproof which has been on sale but he still couldn't justify the price as he doesn' actually need it. (when has that stopped us before?) Read on line that some items have now been further reduced so is hoping the jacket will be one of them. Anyway as usual it is fitness club first before Tiso.

Where is George with news of weekend with Spaniel? We need to know how it went!!!

  • PATRICIAT. Look back until you find Diane's post. She is on page 4. Click on her name at the top and hey presto! that should lead you direct to her page.

  • Dibnlib - I thought Spaniel was with George for a one month trial, starting at the weekend!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Patricia - when you reach Diane's page, click "add comment" and then you can leave your personal message.  Just one point: it isn't entirely private as anyone can click onto the page!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Morning, Everyone:    what on earth is that strange, bright thing hanging in the sky??   Oh, I remember now, its the sun which we don't seem to have seen much for months now!  Makes a nice change from the dismal weather we've had lately.

I've been really rather poorly - said to Friend yesterday, I can't remember ever having something that violent for at least the last 30 years or so!  My OH is still coughing, and he has had it for about 11 - 12 days now.... we spent the weekend looking after each other and trying to get lots of soup down.  Trying to get myself back into gear today, so that I can tidy round and the new little family can come to visit this weekend.

Had to cancel Dentists checkup yesterday and my hairdresser last week:  now I've broken an arm off my glasses so I'm a bit of a mess from the neck upwards!!! with all that!!

Annette:  glad the poetry made you laugh!   it was only 'thrown together' and I wish now I'd spent longer on it, but it's only for fun anyway.

Have so enjoyed all the lovely pics, esp. those of the lovely Phoebe and her huge chicks!

margo - sorry to hear you have been victims of the yobs - wouldn't like to say what I'd like to do to them if caught!  Hope you enjoy your trips out.

We had a drama yesterday with the car, when collecting it from the garage.  All sorted now but I will relate later - have to go out on various errands which cannot wait as they have been put off for too long!

Have a good day, all, & I hope the rest of UK is enjoying this bit of the sun.

  • dibnlib, I got a greengage top in Aviemore last year, good colour for cycling.

patriciat, you don't have to go looking for Diane, just click on her name on your page where her message is.  The other thing is, when you write the message it doesn't look as if it's done anything, but if you click enter/send (or whatever it is!)  again you'll end up with the message going on twice.

OG, ok, hope to go somewhere on Sunday! We don't get going very early.

  • Good Morning ALL. After an earlier light frost, the sun is shining, but it feels so much colder outside. I remarked to OH last night, how quiet it was. There was no wind.

Had to take my car for it's service yesterday morning,, about 30 miles away, so got the service department to take me into Tunbridge Wells so that I could shop whilst they carried out the service. The driver remarked how few bags I had when he picked me up three hours later. Just couldn't find anything I was looking for. Just did an M&S food shop just before he arrived and picked up cards for family birthdays. Such a waste of time. I should have got OH to follow me and bring me back home.

Anyhow must carry on with the HW now and catch up with all your news later, but just wanted to say to Margo, that I am sorry to hear that you have had further problems with the yobs. Just didn't think you would have that problem in your area.

  • Good afternoon everyone I have been having a lot of trouble with the site as it will let me read but won't let me reply to anything. I got the dog on Saturday, its name is DIESEL, and we are getting on very well he seems quite happy and has settled down and he is following me whenever I move. I have yet to find what his attitude is but you do have to raise your voice a bit to get him to do things.  I was hoping to put a picture of him on the blog but whenever I bring the camera out he runs behind the sofa so I will just have to be patient and try to get him accustomed to it. I see that GARY hasn't been able to resist the puppies.

Having the dog has certainly got me out walking as like Alan I go out in the morning and then in the afternoon and up till now I think I have walked further in the last few days than I have in months so I hope to get a bit fitter in the coming months.

I have enjoyed reading all the news and the screenshots of the eagles bears and hummingbirds and thank you for that. I hope everyone who is feeling under the weather gets well soon and the weather gets better before the return of the OSPREYS.

  • George: So pleased things are going well with Diesel...I bet he is enjoying the one to one set up so fingers crossed you might never see the "attitude". I walk regularly but don't have a dog a bone of contention between me and OH. Used to take one of the farm dogs out and he sort of adopted me...I was even left to make the decision to have hm put to sleep when he had a massive stroke. It was quite a responsability but he was such a dear friend. There are more farm dogs but they are a bit feral and I wouldn't trust any of them if we met other dogs and I don't think any of them would know what a collar and lead looked like.

Annette: Kitchen is part of a large open plan space...enjoyed  knocking walls down so much fun so ironing board in drawer is positioned as such I can watch TV whilst doing the ironing. As it is so easy to get out   I never seem to put off doing the ironing.

Dibnlib: Hope jacket was reduced. I do envy you living so close to the gym so I have to make the most of every trip there. Mind you if I lived closer I don't think I would get any HW done.

Anyway HW done , will do OH some lunch  and then a walk down by the Spey. Dull and chilly and I don't think it is going to warm up today.
