Weekly Chat, Sunday, January 30,2011

What ho everyone! Lazy day for the most part - girding myself for the busy week ahead - oh for a week with no appointments, no projects, no visitors - but as they, say 'be careful what you wish for.'    Several folks added pix of Lily, Phoebe, and anonymous eagles on the last page or two of the previous thread, plus some quickie posts to wind up the week (AQ may have melted by the time you read this).   In the meantime, here's wishing Andy Murray the best at the Australian Open - it'll be over by the time I wake up.

Have a good Sunday all.

  • Good morning Brenda H hope your delivery and collection will work out so that you do hot have to put anything outside.  It is drizzling here at the moment and I was thinking to myself that I hoped it wasn't doing the same for you.  Fingers crossed everything will come together for you.  I hate it when waiting for deliveries, especially when they say between 8.00 in the morning and 6.00 at night.  At least most delivery firms now rind when they are on the way.

  • Good morning dibnlib and what a shame the weather has stopped you going for a short walk.  Hopeyou will be able to manage a first walk soon but as you say as you are still a bit slow you would have ended up getting soaked and with the wind as well it would have been unpleasant.

  • God morning Lindybird and that was not a very good start to your day.  Hope water back to normal now and you have managed to have a "hose down".

Your OH seems to be suffering a bit but I hope you have avoided it and that he will feel better soon and get rid of the chesty cough which is making him ache so much.

You are right about the weather in the US and I see that Queensland is being battered by a tropical storm and more flooding.  What has gone wrong with the weather.

I hope you new neighbour will enjoy his bird table.  My Dad and Mum when alive would watch the birds visiting their table for hours and get such pleasure from it.

I alway go straight to the Lily cam in the morning at the moment.   There are lots of sucking noises going on and I just read on the update that Lily is letting all 3 suckle.  What a Mum she is.  I wonder if Hope is doing this as she missed out on her Mum's milk last year when they were separated.

  • Good morning auntie and lucky you seeing waxwings, does that mean you still have berries on trees.

I hope too that I will be able to say that Billy Whizz has let me stroke him, must admit he is definitely not quite so nervous now and always seems to be around somewhere in the garden.

  • Hi everyone.

A Happy New Month to all and I hope everyone has a fantastic February.  Done the BGBW late on Sunday.  Not as many speices this year but 30 Starlings turned up to say hello.  Heard a very loud Blue Tit this morning.  This guy's amp went up to 11! LOL

Thanks to all for your news and pictures.  I must say I feel really sorry for those who are having to endure extremes of temperature.  Hope things become more pleasant soon.

It's only Tuesday moring and we're at 5 pages already.  Last week's chat had 298 posts.  I think this week we can beat 300.  COME ON! WE CAN DO THIS! ;-)

Here's some pics from the BGBW on Sunday.

    Happy Tuesday!

    Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • Annette  pleased your landscaping is finished apart from a few tweaks.  No wonder you had a little rant, what an annoying man.  Glad you managed to convey to him exactly what you wanted as regards size and type fo wood for the trellis.  Hope we see a photo of it when it is finished as it sounds lovely.  Hate pushy people who never listen.

  • Hello Gary  and I will be thinking of you in the terrible weather you have had and yet more promised.  Hope you won't lose you power and that the horses will be fine.  What a worry for you.

I see you have been looking after those adorable puppies who I suspect give you a busy but enjoyable interlude.  Can just imagine them romping around in 3ft of snow.  No wonder you are feeling a little wary.

Will be thinking of you and hoping that all your worries will not come to fruition.  Take care.

  • Good morning Lynette and such wonderful screen shots of the eagles.  They are just magnificent birds.  Was watching the Hampton cam yesterday afternoon and they had some good close up shots.  I did wonder if there was an egg  because I think if was the female that was sitting in the nest but I believe an egg is expected any day now.

  • Lynette I could not agree more with your comments about people being so caring on this site.  Could not wish for better friends even if we are never likely to meet, it is such comfort to know you all.

  • Good morning Alan  great captures of the Hampton eagles.  What a majestic pair they are.  Watched them a lot yesterday afternoon and thought it must be about egg laying time.
