Well then, what's happened today at LG? Oh my goodness, where do we start?
09.50 I logged on to find close up action going on at the nest! Brilliant. EJ arrived with a fish, Rothes (I think) arrives and they both eat with EJ occasionally feeding Rothes. Garten arrives and occasionally gets fed. Rothes nabs the fish as EJ takes off. Rothes has difficulty holding the fish as she eats it. Garten just looks on. EJ arrives, does some housework and takes off again. Rothes follOws EJ leaving Garten. Garten then flies off leaving the nest empty.
10.21 - Fish delivery by Odin. Tagged Chick flies in and mantles over it "it's MINE..."10.22 - her sisters arrive but are not getting a look in!
10.23 FIGHT! Garten has stolen the fish!One tagged chick gives up and flies off. Other attempts to share the fish but Garten tells her to naff off! Chick backs off and watches Garten eat.
11.49 - Odin (?) arrives with a fish and is quickly followed by Rothes. Odin takes off and Rothes scans the skies to see if any of her sisters have spotted the delivery. She appears nervous and is shrieking her head off. An intruder? She's hanging onto that fish. A close up now as Mallachie joins her. Rothes mantles over her fish, as Mallachie mantles too.....there's an intruder about. Mallachie drops down flat into the nest as Rothes cowers over her precious fish.
11.55 - panic over! Rothes is not sharing her fish and she eats it all!
12.30 - EJ brings Mallachie a whopper!!! It's absolutely enormous! EJ stands beside her whilst she eats her fill. Eats her fill....she was still eating it 1 hour and 45 mins later. No, no mistake!
This is Mallachie mantling over the whopper after EJ brought it. I bet she couldn't believe her luck..
13.16 - Garten flies in and waits patiently for her sister to share the whale.
13:35 Odin arrives, with Rothes in tow (seemed to be a bit of a scuffle), with a sardine which Garten takes possession of.
13.54 - EJ arrives, Rothes and Garten are stood waiting for a bite of the whale. They have had enough and are trying to "mob" Mallachie. They're desparate to get their beaks into that fish. EJ whips the fish out from under Mallachie and the others eat. I'm sure she thought she was going to go bang if she ate any more!
...then I got distracted by this new form and my brain lost a few cells! As I type they're ALL eating again.
That nest will collapse under the weight at this rate!
