Morning all:  Long day at the rose garden - poor Robert who supervises the volunteers has been fighting off a bug and a couple of us stayed on longer than usual to help him clean up stuff.  I'm sure I'll be stiff tomorrow. Not as many folks showed up as last year and some of the beds were pruned by city employees which means we'll have to go over those beds again since they did a fairly perfunctory job.

Watching Mad Men (Netflix rental video of first season).  Great viewing when you're too tired to think. Take care all and have a nice Sunday.

  • The puppies are doing fine. Coming up to 7 weeks old. Had some aptitude testing done to find out which would make good show dogs, and which would be good lap dogs. My fav, Mr Blue, is definitely a lap dog:) lol

  • Oh they're so sweet!  It won't be long until they go to their new homes now though.  How we'll miss the pics.  i thought Mia had lots of toys.

  • Here's a picture of my better half in the snow taken 10 days or so ago. It we had another 4 inches that day as well. We now have about 2.5ft on the ground. Winter is certainly here!

  • Hi Trish

Those toys are for the bigger dogs (3 of them) The puppy just happened to find an old bone in there and was having a chew:)

Good news though is that the neighbours are keeping one of the pups, so I will bore you with her development!

  • wow, so much going on.

Sorry , I can't respond to all but I've read up on all the news and all the pictures. Alan, love the revolving Thunderbird!

Hope Hamish and Tweed are doing OK today.

This just posted about Lily and Hope plus 2

"Twitter update on bearstudy by Sue "Any doubt about the # of cubs Lily gave birth to has been put to rest. We clearly heard one new cub squawking and new one cub nursing! "

  • Still bright, and a wee bit warmer.  Shredder jammed!

Joan – I hope you are getting some afternoon sunshine – preferably without frost!  Anti-histamine has stopped the sneezing and I feel fine – just tired from all the breaths I missed with the sneezes; they were so violent that I thought I would either bite my tongue or lose some teeth when they banged together!

Brenda – congrats on quiz results.

Margo – so sorry to hear about your Sister.  I think you mentioned before that she has a previous cancer history, which is probably the reason they did the full scan.  I’m not surprised they waited to tell her and her OH together about her problems seen on the full-body scan – presumably this appointment was with an Oncologist who can see the “big picture” and best advise on the options from now on.  It will not be easy for her to decide about having radiotherapy, but I generally think “quality of life” decisions are best left to the patient if they are fit to decide, and from her trips to the newspaper shop, its sounds like she is physically well enough to withstand therapy.  More thoughts and prayers for her – and you and all the family.

Gary – good to see you pop in – hope you are enjoying the snow plough.  Oh, my!  They are beeeeeautiful!!  So pleased one of the pups will be remaining next door – and I guess we shall be seeing her pups in a few years time!!  Great snow pics too, with your lovely wife.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • BRENDA  Well done on winning the Quiz again and agree with you about bear cubs - 2 is enough to cope with.

Had a walk at Chanonry this aft so that is another first. Thought I would find it too difficult but sand was firm so managed ok and of course Dillon loved it as it was also his first beach walk since I broke my leg.
