Morning all: Long day at the rose garden - poor Robert who supervises the volunteers has been fighting off a bug and a couple of us stayed on longer than usual to help him clean up stuff. I'm sure I'll be stiff tomorrow. Not as many folks showed up as last year and some of the beds were pruned by city employees which means we'll have to go over those beds again since they did a fairly perfunctory job.
Watching Mad Men (Netflix rental video of first season). Great viewing when you're too tired to think. Take care all and have a nice Sunday.

Good Morning All.
Happy Birthday Lynette. Do enjoy your day.
Grey and very cloudy here so no frost last night.
I had a very long phone call with DiL this morning. Her step father's ashes are to be interred today. She is obviously worried about her mother but has decided that they will leave Scotland on Monday. We will meet them at Gatwick and I thought we would then return them to their own London home but they now tell me that they would like to come and stay with us for a few days. I must go and do an extra food shop now.
Another quiz night, tonight. It usually is an enjoyable evening but as we are unbeaten, we are beginning to feel the pressure.
Will have to continue later as I keep having to answer the phone !!!
Hi Annette so pleased your are now getting back to normal with everything coming together at long last. Keeping my fingers crossed for your Panasonic TV that all probelms sorted out and it is working well.
Billy Whizz is letting me get ever closer to him. He spent an hour on my patio yesterday lunchtime, washing and just basking in the warmth. I opened the inner door to patio and talked to him while he watched me. As I type he is here having something to eat and a drink and will then probably find a sunny spot to lay in. I feel now as though I am making some progress with him and it will be interesting to see if he ventures indoor eventaully during the summer when doors will be open.
george g sounds as though you have definitely decided to get a dog. Looking forward to hearing about him/her and of course some pics of the new addition. I am sure you will enjoy the company.

Good morning ALICAT thanks for pics of Phoebe and her little ones. They are so tiny but Phoebe appears to be feeding them well.
The link to Lily and Hope as follows:-

They think Lily has gone into labour but unfortunately the cam is down at the moment. They will be going out to try and sort the problem out but it is very cold there and they will be going on a 30 minute trip by snowmobile. Temperature is -30 would you believe.
Hi AQ sounds as thought the tour is going well. Poor grand-cat hope he recovers soon.
Love the poem about not wearing glasses. I always think I look better without my glasses on and add to that my rubbish eyesight so as far as I am concerned I am looking pretty good for my age. Rose tinted spectacles comes to mind.
Hi Diane your weather sounds terrible can well imagine you are fed up with the snow. Do take care and keep warm.
Love Lynette's birthday card that you posted. What beautiful birds and what a gorgeous splash of colour against the snow.
Good morning WendyB do hope your check up goes well and it will be wonderful for you to meet up with dibnlib.
Diane lovely get well card for Hamish and Chester is gorgeous.
Diane beautiful pic of the owl that you sent for Joan.
dibnlib sorry your foot/ankle/leg is still swollen. You really put me to shame with your swimming and also managing 5 mins on a x trainer. Will be nice if you can meet up with Wendy.
