You have to hand it to the Rutland Project Team. They are doing a great job:

They certainly are Alan. Congratulations to them. I can think of a site, although they don't seem to think so, which could learn a lot from Rutland.
Popped down to MB to see if there's any likelihood of a fledge in the near future. When I got there 5R was eating a pike on the T-perch which, I was informed, he'd just caught right in front of the hide! Only saw the occasional wing-flap from the chicks so I don't think they'll fledge just yet. Hopefully we'll get to see it on the webcam which is due to be fixed tomorrow. Usual great mix of birds in the bay and plenty of flying from the adults, especially Mrs who saw off a juvenile buzzard that got too close.
5R catches a pike and 52 helicoptering:

That video of 5R fishing is bittersweet viewing for me, Alan. It was taken ten minutes before I arrived in Shallow Water Hide on Sunday!
Sandy : Its so annoying when that happens. I missed 30 (10) fledging by about 20 minutes last year.
Meanwhile close to fledging now at MB.
That's life, Alan! I'm watching the webcam now - my money's on a first flight tomorrow.
52(11) fledged this morning. It also looks like somone has made a herculean effort and managed to poo on the camera!
Edit: Just watched live as 52(11) landed back on the nest like he'd been doing it all his life.
