This is a blog by Frederic Bacuez, a French ornithologist based outside St Louis in Senegal.
In this article, he welcomes the Rutland team to "Senegambie"; it appears they will be visiting him, towards the end of their trip.
I'm flying out on Tuesday with the next group of volunteers - very excited. Some ringed Ospreys have already been spotted.
Really good news that some ringed ospreys have been spotted Lynda. I guess we will have to be patient and wait for the details. All the best for your trip and I hope you have a safe journey.
Just can't wait to get there having read this report!

In the picture of the yellow car, I was puzzled at first, then saw the osprey. It is above the middle of the car on a dead? tree trunk, silhouetted against the sky and is probably nearer than it looks in the picture. How lucky we are to have these kind folks from Rutland, sharing their sightings with us.

Sue C: Thanks for starting this thread. It will be invaluable to those of us too busy to keep up with events, in the summer. Good Luck to all the volunteers!
