Busy all day - will catch up tomorrow. Have a good Sunday all (don't forget to check last pages of previous thread. Somebody has been posting photos of puppies again!)
Good morning original goldfinch sounds like a very interesting evening at the Bird Club. Hope the Barnacle Geese will be able to make up their body weight. I wonder how many birds are suffering after all the snow and ice, especially blackbirds and thrushes. We had a pair of thrushes in the garden all through the snowy weather but I have not seen them since the ground thawed out so they must be able to get their natural food again.

Good morning Lindybird hope you enjoy the film. Pleased to see you will be visiting Sweet Pea at the weekend and hopefully your OH's family will get to see him soon.
Warmer here but oh so damp everywhere. My lawn in the back garden would be suitable for ducks at the moment. Billy Whizz wanted to investigate the top of the garden yesterday but changed his mind halfway as he was sinking in the mud and decided to return to the patio and firm ground.
Diane have probably missed you but do have a good time while you are away helping out your friends. You really do deserve a change of scenery and it will do you a world of good.
Your enounter with the hawk is fascinating, wonderful to see one so close up.
Good you enjoyed your dinner with your brother and his fiancee, sounds mouthwatering.
Good morning Alan and thanks for that great pic of an eagle. Just read your post and see it was a pic from somewhere else but nevertheless awesome. I am looking forward to the NBG cam picture quality was very good last year.
You are right about the weather being strange. It is unseasonably warm here but weather forecast is that it will turn colder next Monday. At least we should get some sun which has been missing for days now.
Alan and Lynette lovely pics of beautiful Phoebe and thanks too for the captyres of the racoon dogs.
Good morning dibnlib and can't believe that it was back in October that you had your accident. Nice for you to get out in the garden to feed the birds and pleased your OH helped out with the bird food.
It was good news about my sister. As you say emotionally that should help her. She is not ready to give up and will fight to get back to full fitness I hope although there is still a way to go for her.
Good morning Lynette thanks for the den cam capture. I am not having much luck in seeing Lily and Hope although heard Hope making that suckling noise. Not often on here in the evening and I gather that is the best time for seeing any action.
Pleased your extraction did not cause any problems yesterday.
You are right about sorting out things when you feel like it. It wouldn't be unknown for me to take it in my head to go and sort out cupboards in the evening. OH thinks I am mad but if you feel like doing it, it takes less time anyway.
Afternoon all ... quite a pleasant day here ... watery sunshine ... and 11.5 C .... positive heatwave!!! Just back from a lovely luch at our favourite country pub. We were thrilled to see a goldcrest flitting around in the bushes in the car park ... they have a bird table and some hanging feeders, so we often see a variety of birds there, but that was a first for us in that location! I saw some redwings in the trees outside our front door yesterday too ... a good week :-))
margobird - I was delighted to read that your sister was able to walk and get a paper... excellent news. Its good that Billy Whizz likes his covered food container ... and great that you have someone to feed him while you are away.
I hope Diane has a lovely time while she is away and re-charges her battery ... she deserves it! Her encounter with the hawk sounded wonderful.
Annette - you do seem to be suffering domestic trials and tribulations ... but nothing that a glass (or two!) of red wine won't cure :-)
OG - oh dear ... no blood ... that often happens to me when I go for my blood tests. Your bird club talk sounded most interesting. I saw a flock of well over a hundred geese flying overhead when I was driving home yesterday afternoon ... always a lovely sight.
Thanks to everyone else for chat pics etc ... must go now, have to go and pick up my repeat medication from the pharmacy.
Take care.
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Hi ALICAT lovely capture of the woodpecker. Nice to see the feeders are kept well topped up each day. I am sitting her in the gloom, not 3.30 yet and will have to put the lights on soon as I can hardly see what I am doing. Roll on summer.
