HAPPY NEW WEEK
I hope everyone has a good week.
I regret I have nothing to report tonight. We had high winds and Arctic cold all week. My house was freezing, and I accomplished exactly nothing except too much sleeping. I hibernated along with all the wildlife! LOL
I do hope all of you will be safe from Storm Darragh tonight. It sounds like a wicked bad storm. Sending protective energy to all of you.
Love and hugs to everyone.
OG Good news about J and rotten news about your Granddaughter but nice to hear a positive side from RUSTY. We are not long back from seeing "Conclave" at Eden Court. It stars Ralph Fiennes and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.
DIANE – Thank you for a new week. I’ve sent some of our heat your way – I can spare it! Our last few days have been better and nights are bearable. Air con needs a tall person to check filters. I expect a visit from Dau#1 & tall s-i-l around χmas and I shall try not to have too long a list of other requests!
ROSY – I hope your OH gets the help he needs to recover soon.
Report catchup. Friday - I ordered new fridge and converted health insurance to me, phoned other organizations of change from OH to me. Saturday - emptied freezer into Esky and stuff from fridge into bathroom as coolest room, new fridge arrived. I thought delivery man had not switched it on – it is so quiet. I refilled green bin with last of Lawn Man’s pruning – it has taken me 3 months. Sunday - a quick food shop for a few essentials & to capture turkey roll while it is on special. I missed the special special a few weeks ago as I did not want to tempt fate if fridge failed completely. Ironed a few more of OH’s clothes and packed a big bag for delivery to charity. Daunting what is still to go. This morn I am meeting T (formerly known as Travel Friend) at Murattis for coffee & cake and probably lunch as well. Must dash or I'll be late.
Had a phonecall at breakfast time – cleaners cancelled as one of them has a serious virus (apparently tis “going round” here) and other one is beginning a sore throat. So OH will be doing some domestic stuff today (worst is the ironing) and I shall get on with things needing sorting.
RUSTY – thank you for your encouraging account of your niece’s progress. I know a lot more can be done for Crohn’s patients than was so in the past.
AQ – I hope you had a good catch up with T and enjoyed your lunch together. Glad you have the new fridge delivered and working.
I slept well last night – first for a while – but am feeling very sleepy this morning – need some motivation to get me moving – but at least we have some lovely sunshine to enjoy today.
Annette - You sent me on a hunt as I couldn't remember when I went to Syria and Jordan. Looked at my photographs - no dates on them! Then brainwave - passport! Fortunately I have kept all my old passports - and discovered it was 1996! I thought it was at least ten years later than that ... time passes so quickly. I do remember I had to have a second passport, as I had been to Israel and in those days you couldn't visit Syria if you had an Israeli stamp in your passport. So they didn't get on even all that time ago. Thank you for sending me on a hunt through the archives of my travels.
A bit less wild here today, but still blowy and cold. And - hooray - I am driving again! And it doesn't hurt. So relieved - two and a half weeks without driving, and depending on other people to get me to places, has been really hard. Very pleased to be independent again. My ankle is still quite stiff, but I guess that's lack of use. But no pain, although there's still some bruising. I think I did a proper job!
AQ Hope you enjoy your meet up
Thank you, Diane. I'm sure I'd be the same and hibernating as much as possible.
AQ: Congrats on the new fridge. Hope you enjoyed your outing.
OG: Glad that J has recovered.
Pat: It must be a relief to be "back on the road" I'm not surprised your ankle is still complaining a bit. Give it time.
I had a friend with Crohns. She had to struggle a bit at first after diagnosis but was greatly helped by getting appointments with a specialist Consultant- she said that in the end, SHE knew more about the subject than her own GP did!!
Aussie crows and ravens.
Intresting that they each have their own favourite locality AQ! Here in the UK they seem randomly distributed and of course, people wrongly call them all "crows" just because they're black!
Dull and grey here, but at least its dry. I've been writing annual Christmas letters to old friends. Coincidentally, after the recent discussions I've received an appointment for January today, to have a camera down the throat procedure. I had this about 3 years ago & was told there'd be a follow up but I'm not concerned as I have no symptoms of anything.
A few Christmas cards are trickling in but I'm putting them in a pile as can't get enthusiasm yet for dusting around decorations way too early.
OG - Hope you've had another good night.
Glad your appt is nothing to worry about LINDY.
