Phew!  That's that for another year.  Now off to check recent posts.

Sue, thanks for the screen shot. How cute

Margobird, glad your sister's condition is looking more promising.

Thanks everyone else for all the interesting chat and for getting my taste buds going with all the food talk!

  • what a great card. Thanks Alan

  • GARY: Miss Purple she is a real poppet!!!

  • I thought we were going to share some Hogmanay nibbles which I have just put on a tray, but apparently not, so I decided now is the time to come on and say thank you for all the posts of the last few days – puppies, news of meals out, earthquakes, swimming, egg ‘n chips etc etc.  Got a bit nearer normality today with a visit to the Coffee Lounge for … …wait for it … … decaff latte and carrot cake!  Son had walked into town twice already this week, so we decided we should all go together to show that we belong!

Alan – how lovely that you were able to make that poor old cat more comfortable yesterday.   The “egg ‘n chips in Crete” did make me question whether you were the original Shirley Valentine!

    Diane – lovely card.

Annette – pleased you had a really relaxing day after all you had been doing.

Margo – pleased you are feeling less stressed about your sister, and catching up on sleep.

All who are cold/hot/short of water/flooded/unwell etc, I hope things will be looking up for you as we enter 2011.

HAPPY NEW YEAR – And here’s to a great 2011 Osprey season!!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Wishing all a peaceful and healthy 2011. And a successful osprey season for our LG Team.

After a sleepless night where the temp didn’t drop below 28C, New Years Eve (day) was not as hot as expected. The cool change arrived early and max was only 37C. So a pleasant evening to follow for all the celebrations. As usual we watched the Edinburgh Tattoo (a New Year tradition here). I read and dozed until OH came in to say Happy New Year. From our front door I could see the higher fireworks and hear all the rumbles and bangs. Then our suburb settled back into old age. Not a cheer or shout to be heard. One car drove by and 2 late (free) buses.

By the time you posted Annette, I was trying to sleep (hopeless after dozing earlier!). Tonight we watch the New Years concert from Vienna (another TV tradition). Tomorrow a family brunch with our niece - the one who couldn’t join us Xmas Day. Monday is a public holiday but the shops will be open. Strange.

Lynette Your friends should have a great time. They will find Sydney not as hot as here in Adelaide. More humid weather while ours is dry heat. Sydney is, to us, a big frenetic city. (But that was before I experienced London.)

  • Wendy, she is!! just right for you.. Get working on OH! lol

OG have a very happy 2011

AQ, thanks and the same to you. Sorry about the weather. Always think you need to go a long way to beat fireworks from the Harbour Bridge

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM A RACOON DOG IN ESTONIA:

  • Happy New Year to all !  See yu all in 2011.
