Phew!  That's that for another year.  Now off to check recent posts.

  • Morning all:

AQ: According to my cell phone's world clock, it's 2 a.m.on January 1 in Sydney, so you must already be in 2011!. Are you out celebrating perchance?

Alan: Happy Hogmaney (sp?)  Good for you tending neighbor's cat yesterday, but not good to hear of the outcome, even though 18 is a very good age (when I was growing up we had a cat called Sammy who lived until 18).   Think how nice it'll be to actually see a waxwing - it's gotta happen any day now.

Margobird: Glad things sound brighter for your sister. Let's hope that continues. Enjoy the panto - wish we had them here.

Brilliant sunshine today; the folks in Pasadena's Rose Parade are hoping the rain will stay away until the parade is done (by mid-morning tomorrow).  All those girls in pretty outfits on the floats will have to wear long johns it'll be so cold.

Wishing all bloggers, readers, lurkers, etc., a Healthy and Happy 2011!   I hope the year is kind to us all.

  • Happy New Year and Happy Hogmanay to all of the bloggers on this forum. Thank you for your friendship and support. I wish you all health, prosperity, great joy, and inner peace in the coming year!!! And best wishes to the entire RSPB team.

  • Thank You Diane, that's a lovely pic & a lovely sentiment to go with it.  Thanks also to others who have put their good wishes on here:  here's mine:

BEST WISHES AND A HEALTHY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL -  may the New Year bring good fortune and health to us all.  Thank you one and All for your invaluable friendship and messages throughout the year.  I don't think I am the only one who has found it a very special place here amongst you all. Long may we last!

Finally, a word, as they say, from our sponsors......

  • Just off out, but a very happy New Year to all from me - and from this pair:

  • Just a quickie before we have a special meal with daughter and her man friend .

To wish all our Australian, American, Finnish and British friends and those I might have missed out

A  VERY  HAPPY  NEW  YEAR      to you all.

Will catch up later and Sue C love that pic of Lily and den.

  • Friend not arrived yet so just caught up on all your news - as I write he has just arrived.

Alan - Marvin is a grand age at 18 , we've had cats before who have lived to that age and a bit beyond, so he's not done badly.

    See you soon.

  • Happy new year everyone:)

  • Hope everyone has a very happy and peaceful new year.

Sorry, I haven't managed to keep up with everyone over the last couple of days. Mother in Law still here and puppy sitting duties. So hope everyone's doing well. Off now to try and read back:)

  • Hi everyone. Hope everyone is having a nice festive season and had a good Christmas. Weather in these parts is very mild compared to the last couple of weeks. However the ground feels as if the frost has penetrated quite deep. I feel very sorry for the people in Northern Ireland, who've been without water for days. It's bad enough when the water is turned off for a few hours due to maintenance but to be without for days, must be an absolute nightmare. Hope things are sorted soon. Quite a few burst pipes in Scotland but things seem to be slowly getting back to normal. Anyway enough of my ramblings.

Margobird: A very belated Happy Birthday to you.

Everyone: Haven't been on since Christmas Eve. So I've only been able to quick scan through the pages. Anyway, thanks for all your posts and pics.

Have a nice Hogmany everyone, and a Happy New Year!!!

    Paul.
