Phew!  That's that for another year.  Now off to check recent posts.

  • Well my TV watching last night was the polar bears (not too gruesome, apart from the seal-eating, didn't see anyone get killed) and Rolf Harris (OH doesn't like him but I told him it would be interesting and it was, but too much Jake the Peg etc).

  • Good morning Alan  I hope you manage to catch up with ther waxwings, how frustrating when you know they are about but then disappear when you go looking.

So sorry to read about neighbours cat.  Poor thing I hope  Lady P managed to contact them.  Please do let us know how things go.

Thanks for the lovely capture of Phoebe looking so content in very colourful surroundings.  As you say when we had the frost and snow we did have sun.  Have not seen any sun this week, it is just damp and very dull.  Feels a little fresher today and I heard them say on the weather forecast we will be returning to frosts and possibly snow next week.

  • Good morning dibnlib hope you enjoy lunch but do take care and I am sure it will be worth the effort.

Will be ringing my brother-in-law later today to find out the latest about my sister.  I don't like to ring too much as he is rushing round like a mad thing what with visiting.  The hospital is about an hour's drive away so nearly 4 hours are spent each day travelling and just an hour visiting her twice a day as she is still not up to receiving too many visits all at once.

    Have a good day.

  • Good morning Lindybird and I agree about housework.  I have cleaned bathroom, toilet and kitchen this morning but lounge and bedrooms will wait until next week when everything is put away.  Stuff everywhere at the moment.  OH and I will have a blitz  putting our presents away and then take down decorations so I can get to the places I can't at the moment.    It is very dull here and a bit colder today it is so nice for me that my feet have been warm for a couple of days but not looking forward to the change that is coming again next week.

Haven't watched the polar bear programme yet.  It is recorded together with other things recorded over Christmas but  I am looking foward to it especially after watching the clip that you gave the link for.  So funny and how intrigued were those bears with the cameras.  They must have destroyed a lot of moneyin their effors to get at them.

    Have a good day.

  • AQ just love all the excuses for not doing housework.  My excuse at the moment is there is too much stuff lying around, Christmas cards and presents stacked up everywhere.  Still at least I can't see the dust at the moment, will probably have a shock when everything is put away.

  • Lindybird I feel a lot better today mainly because I had a good sleep last night I think.  Yes I am looking forward to seeing Paul.  He will be a laugh as he is always.  We went up to the studios a couple of times to see his show he used to do on Channel 4.  He still had Buster at that time and what a cute thing he was.  I really felt for him when Buster had to be put down.

  • Good morning patriciat am so pleased that you still have water.  I have been watching the news and wondering about you.  Maybe the new plastic pipes helped.  we just take it for granted that we will turn a tap on and have constant water.  What a nightmare for those who had no water over Christmas and now having to queue for bottled water.

  • Good morning DjoanS I feel better today, had a really good night's sleep, first time since I heard about my sister.  Improvement is slow but it will take a while I know.  As soon as she can cope with having more visitors we will be off to see her.

Pleased to read that you have at last a bit of a thaw although the weather forecasters are saying cold weather will return next week.  Hope it doesn't bring more snow.

For those who watched Lily and Hope on the cam last year it should be up and running anytime now together with 2 other live streaming cams.  The link is:-

  • Good to hear that you managed a good nights sleep, margo - worth its weight in gold.  I know what you mean about being hesitant to phone your brother in law too often - very difficult to know when and how often to ring when there is someone ill, as you feel you are being a nuisance when you ask for news. I do hope that you can go and visit your sister soon.
