HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a good week.
Winter has arrived on my patch. We had 2.5 inches (6.35 centimeters) of snow with 40 mph wind gusts on Thursday. It has melted now.
I left a carrot in the opening of the groundhog's burrow before the storm, but he didn't eat it. He's probably gone into hibernation. I left his carrot, in case we get the brief warm up predicted for Sunday and Monday.
I laughed this morning. Even with the cold, there was a lone surviving super mosquito flying around my bedroom.
Love and hugs to everyone!
Thank you once again Diane.
I do not like the thought of that mosquito!
It is very windy here. Three of my large plants in containers have blown over - an olive and two cordylines.
I hope everyone has a good week, with no unpleasant events.
Thank you again, Diane. Those mosquitos are hardy stubborn critters!! We fight a war with them every time we go abroad for some sun.
It rained all night here but has stopped now- for a while. Awful floods again in some parts of the country. Poor people, having to clear up.
Hope your pots are not broken, Rosy.
I've been pondering. After making an effort & changing the carpet and the sofa etc in our tiny sitting room, I want to have a joiner in and get some fitted shelving to replace my mother's old antique bookcase which clashes with the modern theme. My OH has said "later!" meaning next year. I also gaze at a teak corner cupboard we have. I've been searching for a similar cupboard with shelving above, in all the latest Sale offerings (made of a different wood or finish). But I can't find anything even resembling it. Then yesterday, I had a Light Bulb Moment!! I could paint it!! Now going to consult our DIY shop for some undercoat and paint!!
Hope everyone has a good Sunday especially AQ.
Ha Lindy. That made me chuckle! Good idea re painting your corner cupboard. Diane - thank you for starting our new week. I shuddered when you said about the mosquito!!! I wonder if your groundhog will wake up for his carrot.
I have been for a shorter Sunday walk with my friend today as I have been invited out to Sunday lunch. It’s amazing how all the snow has gone. It is quite mild today.
Thank you, DIANE.
Things here are just about back to normal after my visitors. I am feeling a bit low, can't decide if it is small annoyances playing on my mind or the kidney scan I shall have on Tuesday. A scan last November showed an abnormal 'something' in my right kidney. The Tuesday scan is to see if anything has changed.
Heather - I do hope all goes smoothly with the scan on Tuesday. It's always a worry when you have to have any sort of test or procedure. And of course there are always plenty of 'small annoyances'. Sending thoughts and prayers - and a smile and a hug.
Lindy - It rained all night here as well. This morning is extremely windy but warm. Mad weather!! Had to smile at the shoes joke - so YOU! And of course 'next year' is only a few weeks away ...
I did something really silly on Friday evening. I was sitting, as usual, with my legs crossed and my computer on my lap. The phone rang ... I jumped up to answer it ... foot had pins and needles ... ankle gave way and I ended up in a heap on the floor. Both ankles really painful. Took a long time to get myself up and back onto the settee - painful ankles and not able to kneel very well as I have no cartilege in my left knee. I've been dosing myself with alternate ibuprofen and paracetamol every four hours. Both ankles very fat, although the right ankle is not painful any more. Bruising coming out on both feet and ankles, and left ankle still very painful. Can't drive - can hardly walk - so no bowls for me this afternoon. And I will probably not be able to play tomorrow either. I'm a bit concerned it's still so painful, so may need to get someone to take me to the Minor Injuries Clinic at our local hospital if it persists.
