HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I'm in Indianapolis taking care of 5 dogs. Talk to you all later.

Everybody have a good week. Love and hugs to all.

  • Thanks Diane.  Have a good time in the big city.

  • Thanks Diane. Have a good time with all the dogs! But, what is your groundhog going to do without you????

  • Thank you Diane,  that is a lot of dogs to care for.

We were at Eden Court yesterday to see a repeat screening of "Phantom of the Opera"  what a great show.

My friend her husband and one daughter fly down to London on Tuesday and on Wednesday she has the operation to install her robotic leg.  It is going to be a long and arduous rehab but well worth it.

  • How brave of your friend, dibnlib. I hope all goes well.

We had dramas yesterday!! All of them within 20 minutes  of each other....

First, we wanted to leave our room and the inside handle of the door came off in my OHs hand!! So as we were going downstairs anyway, we headed for the Reception to report it.

We got into the lift -- it went a couple of feet then stopped between floors! We had to press the Emergency button & a robotic voice said try pressing for another floor --- no response from the lift. We pressed buttons & shouted for about 10 minutes!! Eventually, after we had begun to get hot (no air & a small lift) it began slowly to move -- I said don't care which floor it stops on, I'm getting out!

Went to the Reception to report the broken handle. Whilst there,  my OH decided to settle the bar bill. The girl printed it out for us and proferred the gadget for him to swipe his card. He swiped it & it wouldn't accept it. He put in his PIN number, twice & it still wouldn't. He had to fish around & find another card to pay with. <SIGH>

Diane, thank you for starting us off and give all the doggies a big hug from me.

  • RUSTY: I left the groundhog some food in the opening of his burrow. The cold autumn rains have finally arrived, and I wanted him to have enough food.

  • LINDY: WOW. That almost sounds like a widespread technology glitch. Or you are under a cranky moon. :-) Take care.

  • DIANE: Thanks for the new week yet again!  Pleased to see you are back in Indianapolis - I had thought the latest falling out was terminal!  I hope it wil be a better ending this time!

DIBNLIB - I was wondering when Erica's stay inLondon was due - will be thinking of her and her family and friends - quite a scary undertaking.

LINDA - sorry about all the tech troubles with hotel facilities - hope rest of the time goes better!

Eventually got photos of new baby - relieved to see she looks okay - was beginning to fear problems.  She actually looks a lot like her three year old sister.

Went to church today for Remembrance service - remembered to put "avoid" on the appropriate page in new diary which was delivered this week!  I did not go to be told why I should be wearing a red poppy - especially as I had told OH I was only going there to visibly demonstrate that I was not wearing a popy (of any colour).

Gradually feeling better from the chest infection etc - almost speaking with a normal voice now - still had to ask E-E to substitute for doing the readings this week.

  • dibnlib:  Your friend is a constant source of inspiration.  Will she have rehab back at home or will she stay in London for a while?  Which hospital is doing it?  In a weird way I suppose she's 'lucky' to be living in a time when robotic legs are an option, though I don't doubt the dear woman would much prefer her own.  Give her our best wishes and admiration!

Lindybird:  Too many dramas; can't say I like the idea of being stuck in an elevator.  Was there anyone from the hotel there to meet you when the door finally opened? Hope they got it fixed......

OG:  I'm ignorant about poppy-wearing trends.  Are they a political statement these days?   Glad fears re baby were unfounded and that you're feeling better.

Diane:  Seems like a lively relationship with Indiana friends, but who can argue with five dogs?  :-)

Ms D is with daughter at the horses this morning, then maybe due here to do more work in the garden (and to add to her Christmas spending stash).
