HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a good week.
The harvest is nearly complete here in my area. The leaves have almost all fallen off the trees, and they're dry and crunchy. Indiana has had the 3rd driest October in recorded history and the driest since 1964. My county is officially in drought, and there's a burn ban and red flag warnings because of the elevated fire risk and high winds. Lots of field, brush, and forest fires in my region. Just a few miles north of me is "severe drought". All very, very unusual for my state. We usually have the autumn rains.
The birds that migrate have left. The pileated woodpecker is staying the winter in the woods across from my front door. I'm continuing to leave apples for the groundhog. He hasn't begun hibernation yet.
Love and hugs to all.
OG Congrats on new GGC Do hope you are better soon.
OG: Congrats on the new baby. Don't know about candles either. Name and custom sound very New-Agey? Do hope you feel better.
Clare: You are wasting your energy. :-))
I am not. In times like these everybody sane needs to make themselves heard.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Hello everyone, not been on for some time but hope all is well with you all.
What a to do in America, let's hope his presidency will be fair and wise!!
Plodding on down here, but no signs of knee operation yet as I have to lose some weight. Now have appointment with the doctor on 26th Nov to discuss letter from the consultant re weight loss etc so we'll see what that brings up, meantime it gets more painful but one has to bear up and be patient.
If there is anyone suffering at present then I do hope you will find recovery fairly quickly.

Dau took her car in for service and mot last week during half-term, unfortunately it failed on two tyres so they had to be changed suffice to say it wasn;t cheep in the end. She only had to pay for the tyres thankgoodness as she is paying a maintenance plan.
Clare Did not mean in general, but specifically when minds are made up and closed. It's worse this side of the Pond! Take care.
Very tidy spice shelves. I believe I still have a couple of jars I inherited from my mother, who died in 1991 ... they still smell and taste the same!
Lindybird/Pato O: Oh dear. I do wonder about some of the jars in mine.... :-))
Lindy, Pat and Annette - I can join the ancient jars of spice club too!!
Ness Gardens was very pleasant. Shame we were still having the dull, grey weather. Here are a couple of photos.
