HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a good week.
The harvest is nearly complete here in my area. The leaves have almost all fallen off the trees, and they're dry and crunchy. Indiana has had the 3rd driest October in recorded history and the driest since 1964. My county is officially in drought, and there's a burn ban and red flag warnings because of the elevated fire risk and high winds. Lots of field, brush, and forest fires in my region. Just a few miles north of me is "severe drought". All very, very unusual for my state. We usually have the autumn rains.
The birds that migrate have left. The pileated woodpecker is staying the winter in the woods across from my front door. I'm continuing to leave apples for the groundhog. He hasn't begun hibernation yet.
Love and hugs to all.
Yes, Annette. It’s the climate which causes the rust. My car is 16!! It was only a bit on the door sills. It is now done and the car looks as good as new. Next issue is a problem with my left ear. I strongly suspect that a wax guard has come out of my hearing aid and is stuck in my ear!!! Couldn’t get an appointment today. The only appointment tomorrow is in a town 20 miles away at 4.45!!! I have taken it as I can hardly hear a thing out of my left ear!! The rest of the day I am taking my friend to Ness Botanical Gardens for her birthday treat. We may have to cut short the subsequent visit to a garden centre so that I can get to my appointment. This is private hearing aids, not NHS. This company is highly thought of so, therefore, is very busy!! I will keep you posted. I do hope the house sells. My niece and husband are currently trying to sell theirs. They haven’t had mush interest which is disappointing. They may have to lower the price.
Hope your hairdresser remembered everything RUSTY ! So sorry about your ear problem and fingers crossed it will be sorted promptly.
ANNETTE - Your busy morning made me feel tired - and rather sad that I used to be the ' go to ' person in my family . Not any longer. Very annoying !
I hope that OG and EE managed their usual Wednesday day out today. And LINDY - what a treat to get such a lovely upgrade. Enjoy the rest, you both deserve it.
Commiserations to the whole world! The clown is back.
BTW - today we didn't go out for lunch and shopping - this was planned as we didn't need to go where we would have gone!/
Still not at all well - awaiting any developments.
LINDA – What an upgrade! You won’t need to do anything but relax. You deserve it.
OG – Just missed you. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Nothing on any channel here yesterday but the count and its analysis by “experts”.
ANNETTE: My guess would be that you'd get a higher price in April, but I don't know enough to have an opinion. The fed is predicted to drop the interest rate another quarter point today (the 7th). Did you see that the Dow (stock market) gained an amazing 1500 points yesterday?! I listen to Marketplace on NPR every night. I don't know why; I don't have money. LOL!
RUSTY: In my state, we don't have MOT or smog tests. We just drive our cars until they fall apart in the road. LOL
Hope OG is OK. {HUGS}
OG - I too hope you are soon feeling better. This dull, grey weather doesn’t help the mood does it? Diane - I have just had a look at my car in the light of morning. I am very pleased. It is all shiny and new looking. The friend who took me to fetch it said it looks good for at least another 2 years now. Mind you, it still has to pass the MOT with the mechanic in January. No rust buckets here. We have so much traffic that I think having a car in reasonable condition is vital and I can understand why we have the rule.
I am looking forward to my trip to Ness Gardens today with my friend. This dull weather won’t show the autumn colours off at their best but I am sure we will enjoy the day. We are starting off with coffee and cake in the cafe!!!!!!!!!
