HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a good week.
The full moon, the "Strawberry Moon", was beautiful here last night. Very large and a lovely orange color. I don't have much else to report. The scorching heat and high humidity have kept me indoors all week, except for an uncomfortable trip to the grocery store.
Love and hugs to all. I'm so sorry for all of you facing tough challenges.
Morning all and sending best thoughts to Lindybird for today.
Diane: I couldn't bear to watch the 'debate' last night. Had a lovely day spreading mulch and adding soil conditioner in the garden (I'm not joking!) and decided I didn't want to end the day in terminal frustation... Yuk.
ANNETTE: I have vented on Facebook. I probably shouldn't give my strong opinions here. I'll just say that the US is in deep trouble. Hope your garden does well!
Diane - I have been thinking about you all today. Sending calming thoughts. Wont say anything else.
Rusty: It's scary. Headlines all seem to include the word 'struggle' when referring to Biden's performance and there's massive speculation on the advisabilitiy of him withdrawing from the race. Yikes.
Lindy - I have been thinking about you and your OH today. Fingers crossed for you both. In answer to your question, I didn’t buy a scone. Several of the ladies did but I had had a cake whilst out in Wednesday so couldn’t really justify it!
I am in a muddle with days of the week – thinking we already had Friday, until I discovered this is Friday! J was back to night-time wandering, which doesn’t do any of us any good! He couldn’t manage much breakfast and wouldn’t even consider lunch, but he has eaten some dinner. It was a pasta recipe, chosen to tempt him but I couldn’t face it, so I had a lovely baked potato – goes down well with salads from the garden. E-E and I went to the two local supermarkets this afternoon – couldn’t find a pork pie anywhere, which I had planned Sunday tea around, but I managed to tweak the plan. I have been quite well today, so coping reasonably with life’s variety.
History Festival launches this weekend, and of course we are in the throes of Riding of the Marches - parades next weekend. Don’t think we shall attend much, if any, of all the happenings. We have Dau#1 and SiL this Sunday to celebrate J’s 45th birthday (actual day tomorrow but they have a big Guiding event). I think they will have quite a shock when they see him this time.
LINDY – hoping to reach the end of your post and find good news!
RUSTY – full marks to your niece for the rescue hens – and the eggs! Cafés are always so pleased to offer freshly baked scones or quiches, but I don’t like either warm, so always have to ask for yesterday’s leftovers! If I were home alone and fending for myself, I would mostly eat only cold food!
ANNETTE – upsetting to watch Biden floundering in the debate and see that awful orange face glowing! But there is a long time before November, and I am still hoping a prison sentence will change the eventual arrangements and outcome.
May miss weekend time in the study due to the birthday and then the visitors, but will try to look in for news from LINDA – thinking of you!
Glad you're a little better today, OG.
Update on my OH - Not a lot of news, really. I sat in the hospital car park whilst he saw the urology specialist. He was gone for a long time. He had been processed for a minor investigative operation on 10th July to find out what is going on. So he was weighed, prodded and questioned, and blood samples taken etc.
We've decided to go to Wales for a few days to get away from everything. We need to ready our holiday home for our Youngest to have it with his brood in July- He's the one with three children so I have to make sure they have enough bedding, and put some of the ornaments away!!
PS - he's finished putting up the new fence now so I'm hoping he will relax for a while!
LINDA – Thinking of you & OH. Not knowing what is wrong is unbearable. {{{HUGS}}}
I’ve read all posts but no time to comment. OH did not improve. On Thurs he disappeared while I was in toilet. I thought he was wandering suburb but called police. To cut a long story short, he caught the bus to city in pjs with no wallet, etc. When found he refused to get in police car & Dau#2 had to collect him. Friday morning he had trouble walking & other problems. I waited 4 hours for Ambo, ramped at hospital 3+? hours, further wait in ED. S-i-l#1 brought me home by midnight. OH will stay there for weekend. So far this morn I have done 2 loads of his washing & brought yesterday’s early morn load from garage to dry under a/c. Fridge full of yesterday’s menu for two plus donations from Dau#1. New assessment will occur and respite for me arranged eventually. . . after the weekend.
OMG AQ; I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all that. Getting on the bus in pjs sounds like an Alzheimers event rather than Parkinsons, but what do I know? That's a loooong wait for an ambulance and a very very long day for you. Is that the SiL that 'was' who came to help? What a worry, but really, I'm glad you get the weekend to catch up on sleep?
AQ - so sorry to hear about your OH - that must be such a strain on you and family. Try and rest as much as possible over the weekend to build up your strength. I hope the hospital is not too far away for you.
