HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY SOLSTICE!
The solstice is Thursday in the UK and the US.
I don't have any wildlife/nature stories to impart today. We've been warned to expect extreme, perhaps record-breaking, heat starting Monday and to last indefinitely. So I've been preparing. I ordered a new fan today to arrive Monday. Temps are predicted to hover around 100 degrees F (38 C). That might not sound bad, but Indiana is very humid in summer.
Hugs and love to everyone. Sending strength to those facing adversity.
Up here things are no better. I go to get my roots extracted in July 7 months after my dentist referred me and OH will have to wait 5 months for the cardio appt after being referred by the neuro vascular consultant. He had a CT scan on his pancreas over 2 weeks ago and is still waiting for the result so at the moment we seem to be either waiting for results or appts.
Sorry to hear that you too, are on a waiting game. It seems that its true that the NHS is now OK as long as you can get appointments!
AQ - So much harder for you if your OH can't be persuaded to have visitors or help.
Rusty: What a super day you had-- I'm quite jealous as I love to hear the skylarks.
Fairly pleasant here today: the sun is out some of the time, and my OH has attacked another section of the fence. He says two more sessions may finish it off, and then he can sit in the garden and relax without thinking that he should be doing something.
Pictures to follow of more flowers in our garden.
Beautiful Lindy. You do manage to pack a lot of interesting plants in your garden.
Bumping us up. Have a good Saturday everyone.
Just a bit of good news to share. I had an oncologist appointment yesterday after my scare with needing an ultrasound. All good. What he felt was indeed scar tissue. He has discharged me. All I have now are my annual mammograms plus follow up appointments with the surgeon. I am so relieved. I went to the local cricket club afterwards where my great niece (aged 5) was on a short course. She was enjoying herself but I don’t think cricket is her thing. Lol. There were only 3 girls and lots of little boys! I have been invited to a family barbecue at her house this afternoon so am looking forward to that.
Forgot to say. Lindy - you have such lovely flowers in your garden. Thank you for the photos.
Very quick update on J: Doctor was pleased that swelling is decreased but has referred him back to dentist! His appt Monday is with the "other" dentist - actually mine! He managed almost all his dinner last evening - been surviving on chocolate mousse and bananas!
LINDA - lovely photos of your flowers.
